CARAVAN ANNOUNCEMENT,
Governor Tanda Knighthawke of Minoc will be hosting a caravan from Minoc to the Keep of Bordermarch on Dragon Isle. This is the Governor's gift to Sentri, the commander of the King's forces at Bordermarch. Sentri is a native of Minoc who is far from home.
This caravan will progress over 2 nights, Monday July 21 and Wednesday July 23. Gather on the first night at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern at the Minoc Bank and, on the second night, at 8pm Central/9pm Eastern in a location to be determined. Please show up on-time both nights, as the caravan will be setting out at most 15 minutes afterwards, and we will need time to arrange everything properly.
The Governor will be paying for guards: 100,000 gold for participation on both nights, payable at the end of the expedition on Wednesday, in Bordermarch. You will need to be be issued a temporary Britannian Armed Forces badge.
Those who wish to merely accompany the caravan, but not be hired as guards, also are welcome. We'll be glad to have you take control of some of the pack animals and shield them from potential attack!
(CARAVAN ANNOUNCEMENT, OOC
This will be a 2-night, PvP-focused event.
The 100k fee will be paid to those who are willing to be guilded temporarily (once Monday night, once again on Wednesday night) to a guild that will be warred to the “bad guy guilds,” and are willing to PvP according to specific rules of engagement (see below, either in this post or a reply to it).
Those who wish to just accompany the caravan and watch, but not PvP (and also not be paid!), also are very welcome and indeed it could be useful to have some caravan animals that aren't subject to attack by oranges!
Most of the trip will consist of slowly walking and tending to pack animals that are part of the caravan, punctuated by attacks.
Payment is not contingent upon success but, rather, upon full participation and compliance with the rules.
The important part of this event will be the success of the caravan – not the outcome of any particular fight, but ensuring that at least some of the goods make it through to Bordermarch.)
