Why is it that I can not buy bandages or anything else from NPC vendors?

Im trying to train my freaking Healing, and I cant buy anything from them. It keeps saying I dont have the gold to cover the purchase. When In fact, I have more than enough gold both in the bank and in my actual backpack.

Very frustrating.
