cannot convert house into customizable, please help

The options to convert the house into a customizable house or event o demolish it are shaded out, I can do everything else with the house except those. I have not played the game in years, but I did keep my subscription open not to lose the house.

I did do a name change on my main character, but I do not see that being a problem?

Any idea as to why I cannot convert my house into a plain plot and rebuild it?

What type of house is it? They all don't have the option because of the shape.

does the crate have to be empty?

yes, it will block customizing if it isn't

ok, I emptied the crate, now I have the option to demolish, but the change the house into a customizeable house option is still shaded out, any other thoughts?

Do you have any furnishings that are containers but come as a deed? like the elven dressers or the sacrificial altar? Oh and yes, ejpeters is right, if it's an L shape, keep or castle, you can't.

yes, I do, do I have to deed those? It says if I just want to customize the house, but the customize house option is clickable and it does tell me to remove those.

But the convert the house and completly turn it into a plot is still shaded and unclickable, I figured it would automatically deed everything and put everything into the crate?

hehe , if it's already a customised house, you can't change it into one. That option is for classic houses.
The option you want is 'customize this house'

I don't fully remember, but I think once you're in the customize menu you can choose to clear the plot. Or you can just take down the walls of course.
