Yes, a Microsoft automatic update patch.Did you download, install, or change anything anything since you were last able to login?
do you remember what kind of patch? such as what it patched?Yes, a Microsoft automatic update patch.
There was a Microsoft security update 15 April (Kb952004,KB956572,KB959426,KB960803,KB963027) and Microsoft update KB905866.That's strange - there's not been an Update released in the last 3-4 days (before then, yes, but...)
That might not have been a real update you installed, but malware. Unless it's something that you get to by going through Browser "Tools" option, or having automatic updates turned on, it's probably not valid. ESPECIALLY don't click on anything on some web page that tells you that you supposedly don't have an update (those are ads, typically for malware, fake security software they want to charge for, or both).
Also check and see if that update turned your Windows Firewall on - if you're running some other software firewall, Windows Firewall should be OFF.
I am using a wireless mouse and haven't changed the batteries or anything in the last few days. Thanks for tryingSince your on Wireless, I am going to throw this out there.
I ran out of batteries for my wireless mouse, and switched to my USB wired mouse for a couple of days. Things appeared to be going just fine until playing UO. I kept losing connection and getting the 'can not communicate' error.
I figured out that the USB wired mouse was interferring with the Wireless Network Adapter. That particular USB plug must have been fighting for resources with the PCI slot my NIC is in.
Went back to my Wireless mouse, and all is good.![]()
