Cannot buy from UOgamecodes, high volume traffic

Hi,
I cannot get an order to go through on uogamecodes. It says they are having a high volume of sales at this time. Says my credit card will not be charged, try again later. This has gone on for days. My emails match on the accounts and credit card. I have used the card again. I tried to call them and it says their lines are closed. What could I be messing up?

I've been having the same problem for a month. I wanted to buy a legacy code and got the same error. I've purchased successfully from the UOGameCodes store 5 or 6 times previously without problem. I don't understand either why it is not working. My credit card is the exact same one I used before.

I just bought some earrings of protection 2 days ago from there. I didn't have any problems with getting my purchase to go through on the first try.

I had a friend buy from uogamecodes with no problem at the same time that I could not. That is why I think there must be a problem with me. I checked emails, addresses, etc to be sure they were the same. I need suggestions on what is wrong with my account and credit card. I do not get an error message just too high volume of sales at the moment. So were the two of you just lucky and got through or is it something else?

Yup me too. No errors until I hit checkout and then the "volume too high" note comes up. I've checked and I've never been charged. I've tried 7 or 8 times using Firefox and IE and both give the same response. I tried using two different accounts and both gave the same response. I'm perplexed too... Especially because it used to work for me without any problem.

Maybe I will try from work and see if that goes any better.

I checked my UO account info and billing name/address even the credit card are the same.

My family and I have been having the same problems. I tried using my credit card then paypal credit card. Nothing worked, so I called them. I hit the #7 and am positive about that, but the guy said it was #8 and put me in the other line... waited for around 30 min, then it still said the longest person had waited 40 min. I hung up. My grandson did it, and the exact thing happened to him.

Try clearing your browser history, reboot your computer, and then use the site again.

I would clear the browser cache specifically, then try again. That fixed the problem for me. Good luck!!

Given that the EA line for the future, as given in their last shareholder's report, was 'microtransactions are good and the way of the future is online payments', it really is WAY past time they sorted out their sites that handle these sort of transactions.

UOGameCodes has a long history of at best erratic behaviour, and it's rather a poor joke if the EA 'way of the future' is something they can't even get working properly.

I can't order anything either. I was going to be nice and buy my wife a Charger. She's a newbie and keeps getting her horse killed. ;)

So please fix the store, EA! Every day you don't, an innocent horse will die by my wife's hands...

I have just ordered my Stygian Abyss upgrade code! It worked fine for me......just wondering now, How long til I get my email with my code??!! miss impatient hehe

Guess I'll try ordering from the office tomorrow and see if that makes any difference.

Obsidian, there is a way to use the EA support site to make your purchase by e-mail sent via your EA "account" (which is not the same as your game account). The Q&A in the Knowledgebase is here: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=10733. I haven't used that method to make a purchase in a couple of years, but it should still work. Now that the holidays are over and with it still being Monday, I would think you'd get your code if you go this route by maybe Wednesday. You can also make the purchase by phone, which would be even faster.

Still broken for me :( I put in a ticket 8-9 days ago and have had no reply. Holidays? It would be nice if the "24 hour reply" note meant something.

I called the number in the help faq and hit option 1 as per the intructions. After a ten minute hold a very nice lady said that I should have hit option 7 - waited on hold for another 35 minutes before giving up.

Hello UOCode! I want to give you money!

Thanks, Tina. I appreciate the info and will give it a shot. But, I still would like to get this issue resolved. It is apparently affecting multiple people. I also suspect this won't be the last time I want to purchase a code from the UOGameCodes site. I'd like to get this resolved for my future impulse "I need a soulsone or charger now!" purchases. :). In this digital age, I should not to have to make a phone call during business hours, wait for an operator, and then have to explain my issue (again). It would be fantastic if EA-Mythic's community coordinators could comment on this issue.

I just got another SA upgrade, the 7th slot and the storage upgrade and had no problems with anything. Maybe get up at the buttcrack of dawn and try it then so that no one else could possibly be dumb enough to be alive at that hour and try it again? If you cleared cache and all that, the only thing I can think of is to do what I said above.

K...called 1-866-543-5435 and placed my order over the phone. Took a total of 49 mnutes from start to finish (including hold time).

I just bought an SA upgrade code for a friend tonight with almost no problems. Everytime I clicked on Add to Cart the page started blinking like I was clicking refresh every 1 second.

I closed IE and opened Firefox and it went thru no problem. I would suggest clearing cookies/browser history and if that don`t work,try another browser all together.

The only thing i could suggest is to try using another browser such as Firefox.

Very easy to install, and worthwhile. I use it myself and have it as my main browser now... It's worth a try.

I had tried Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera, Clearing Browser Cache's, clearing DNS cache....and then tried to use a friend's computer who uses a different ISP and I had the same troubles. It's gotta be either luck of the draw, an account specific issue, or dependent on what you're trying to purchase and/or quantity. In any case....I had spent so much time trying to figure it out....was happy to spend 45 minutes on the phone. I just called using Skype and was playing UO while they had me on hold anyway.

Firefox, cache cleared, tried on laptop and desktop...

I've tried purchasing from UOGameCodes on:

- 3 different computers with both IE and Firefox separately
- Using 3 different UO account credentials
- From 2 locations (my work and home)

Nothing works. The last thing I purchased successfully from UOGameCodes was a buddy account code in Oct. I am not looking forward to 49 minutes on the phone for 2 legacy token codes, but I will do it when time allows (hopefully today or tomorrow).

Still hoping for a comment that acknowledges there is a problem from someone at EA-Mythic...

I have also tried from multiple locations on multiple browsers using multiple accounts.

There is something wrong with their system. I really wish they would fix it. Or at least acknowledge that it is borked.

How much money are they losing over this?

I dont really understand the problem, two days ago I bought a stygian abys code without any problems.

answer this people:

1: Whats the error msg? whats not working?
2: With Visa or mastercard?
3: What country?
4: What exactly did you try to buy?
5: at what time?


I go first:
1: worked fine.
2: Visa
3:Norway
4: Stygian abyss upgrade code
5: 5-6pm GMT


this might give'em some clue to what is wrong, service related or customer related.

Here's a question for the folks who've cleared their browser cache, rebooted, and still had problems: Does the account you used currently have credit card information on it, or is it blank? I'm wondering if the system they're using is trying to match up the credit card info you put in for your order with the credit card information that is currently stored on your account.

Just a guess and maybe something to check.

I made time to call EA this afternoon. I was successful in getting my two desired legacy token codes. It took me 50 minutes total after initially talking to the Rock Band Support Rep (lol), but after getting transferred to the right person the problem was resolved (at least for the time being).

This was the interesting part of my conversation, however. The EA Support rep told me this is a known problem with the UOGameCodes store affecting ONLY Legacy Token Codes. The site is working properly for all other transactions (as far as he knew). He knew the minute I called and mentioned the UOGameCodes site that it was a Legacy Code purchase even before I said that. This seems to correlate with the posts in this forum. Connor successfully purchased some earrings of protection. Mitzlpick purchased a SA upgrade code successfully. Others said their transactions went through but didn't say what they bought. I guess the question is whether anyone has successfully purchased a Legacy Token Code through the site? And if they did, was it alone or in conjunction with another item?

Yes I think this is it. I was able to upgrade an account on the website but have not been able to buy legacy tokens. I have two accounts so I finally tried doing a mixed order with an upgrade and tokens- it bugged out and would not go through.

The tokens are brokens!! :gee:

I purchased just a Legacy Token Code for the shroud, charger, or full soulstone in July 2008. I purchased another one, along with an Advanced Character Token code, in April 2009.

I've purchased several Legacy Token codes in the past from UOGameCodes, but none since the summer '09. The first time I tried it recently was about the first week of Dec '09. I haven't tried to purchase anything else (thinking it wouldn't work). Maybe I will have to pick up some earrings of protection just to check out the site.

Have had the exact same issues as well... I successfully purchased the SA upgrade from the store no problems, but tried every possible bit of troubleshooting to get it to work for a legacy token... but no dice :rant2:

Same problem as others here. Tried different PCs, different accounts and even from a PC located in EU and one in US.

No luck whatsoever. Guess they don't want our money :(

I'd be okeh with this being a problem for a few days but its been like this for 1+ month now.

It is definatly the legacy tokens causing the glitch, after reading this I dumped the LT's from my cart and added a 7th chr slot and it went through without the high volume message try again screen.
