Can you use wooden engraving tool on 11th year full bookcase?

I have gotten a lot of the new 11th year full wooden bookcases and I wanted to mark them so you could tell which rune books are in them easily without having to open them all. I know you can dye them with a furny tub just like the craftable empty wooden bookcases (the books regrettable also dye) and wanted to know if anyone had successfully engraved one. I am afraid it might screw up the way it fills with books and am too chicken to try at this point and am hoping someone might have already done this and can share the info

Try it with another, more common deeded wooden container. I would say probably not... I don't think (but haven't tried) that the tool works on deeded containers.

If your up when shard is going down for day you could do it when it's not saving. You will have like a 4-5 minute time frame to test it. Just wait for the second time you see the system message about the shard is going down.

Once you claim the bookcase, it is no longer a deed or token. It looks and acts exactly like the craftable wooden shelves and can be dyed with the furny tub just like normal. It does however dye the books that fill the shelf when you put something in it so if you dye the shelves black, the books all appear black. I know you can engrave the craftable one, I am just worried how engraving might work since the thing changes appearance when you put items in it.

This is a good idea, but I am never up that late. Maybe I can try to make it to server down sometime and try it if I don't cave first and just try it. The dang things are 3.5 mill a pop here on Atlantic and I am in the process of raising funds to buy 13 so I would scream bloody murder if it blew up or broke it somehow

Yes you can. I have about 17 in my library and most, if not all, I have engraved with no problems. I honestly can't remember if I engraved them before or after I put the books in them.

Until you brought this question to light, I never even considered it might mess up my bookcases to engrave them. Good thing for me, since I was rather short sighted, that it worked beautifully!

Thanks so much!! That will save me a lock down for each shelve since I won't have to put a book or rune on it naming what it is. I just wish you could dye the shelves and the books didn't dye the solid color as well, but they are so killer it is a minor beef.
