I have 3 accounts, 3 houses and i also have friends well with 21 characters i can only co-own i think 10 characters to a house if i remember right i am not home right now to test it can someone please double check thanks?
  • Sure i can friend as many characters as i want per house but i want to be able to co-own each of my characters and it would sure be nice if characters could be co-owned to multiple houses The reasons i want this i will list .
  1. With 21 characters i can only co-own 10 of them meaning 4 of them have to be friended.
  2. With 3 accounts and 21 characters i can only have each character co-owned to one house meaning the rest of them have to be friended.
  3. I would like to give friends access to certain containers but i also want all my characters to have access to every container and i don't trust all my friends enough to let them have access to everything in my houses.
Sure i can make containers with access to everyone but in a public house anyone could just take it if they can get to the container and i do not want that.
  • I will make this apoll so please vote or comment thanks.

I have 5 accounts and the exisiting co-ownership rules are archaic and nothing but a pain in the behind to continually work around just to do basic things. I too have argued for this for years and yet not once in the multiple threads on this topic has a dev or anyone so much as commented or said why it can't be done.

I cannot 'friend' anyone to my houses due to the fact that most of my chars need to be friended due to not being able to coown more than one house, meaning that to keep the place secure and to allow my chars to access anything I can't actually have any one else 'friends' on them. But yes, the houses need to allow more than the existing coowner number as well.

I have never seen a logical reason put forward as to why this cannot happen, you can have dozens of 'friends' surely it is just a matter of changing the coded number in some bit of text. As for 'release coownership' if you have coown of a multitude of houses then it really doesn't matter if it drops them all and you need to reset on that char the ones you want back on, it is still far simpler to do that once than this mess we have now of logging in and out, trying to remember which char coowns what and which char can access what in multi accounts and it would 'free' up your char to also coown on other peoples houses to do deco, run player run events and do set ups etc.

The existing rules on coownership are just a hindrance to the enjoyment of having multiple accounts and houses, and limit the gameplay in actually being able to have 'friends' in your houses without giving them access to everything. Not every 'friend' is a guild member, so while that is a work around on some things, it is not a great solution for non guild friends.

If there is a logical reason as to why it can't happen then fine, at least advise us so that this issue can be put to bed. However from which ever way I look at it I don't see that it makes a diddly squats worth of difference if all my chars coown my 5 houses, as opposed to own 1, co-own 1 and be friended to the other 3. The same amount of 'text' is stored somewhere no matter how you look at it.

OP i dont know what your problem is??

Account 1 house co own account 2 house and vice versa. Account 3 house, make everything in there friends (and dont let your "friends" into it) account 3 house stays private and friended to account 1 and 2 only. Since you have access to all 3 homes, account 3 probably has one main character, and co own them to the other 2 houses.

in short,

Account 1 house- co own house 2 account
Account 2 house-co own house 1 account
account 3 house (PRIVATE HOUSE)-friend everything in the house, only "friends" on the list are account 1 and account 2

Thus, there is no problem with the co owner listings, and no problem with your "friends" online getting your stuff. You can also friend stuff in house 1 and 2, and that way your online friends can still have their access to things there.

Or use KR to co-own, problem solved, your char can be co-owner to more than one house. KR works different in many ways, also the way access to houses works are different.

I don't know if there still are a limit of 8 co-owners to one house or that also is fixed in KR

Doesn't work that way.

5 Accounts:

Shop
Guild Castle
Home Castle
Museum Castle
Storage Castle/Event Castle.

35 Characters, of which at least 20 are played weekly, each need to access all premises as the way I manage my stuff is by allocating items depending on where they fit, my character fights, some stuff goes to the shop, some to the home castle, some to the storage castle, some to the guild castle. I have another 6 coowned to 'guild' houses, as they do the deco on player run events and I need access those premises when the 'owner' is not on as they are set up for various 'use' ie arena, village hall, chapel, theatre, tavern, etc.

I have 1 main crafter who does deco on all, continually dropping coownership of one to coown another every time I need to change something.

Every time I need to use the deco tool, have to find the 'right' char for the 'right' house.

Can't have any others 'friended' due to my chars needing to be coowned or friended to all premises.

You may have no problem, and yes, I manage it all, but the question is not whether YOU would think it beneficial, but I and I know many others who run multiple accounts would. In fact as I said this issue comes up time and time again, and in every case there are those who have been begging for this for years.

It is not a game breaking issue, just an issue that those of use who do run multiple accounts would LOVE, and if you don't have multi accounts or are happy to run as things are fine, any change will not affect you will it?

But for a LOT of us this change would enhance OUR enjoyment of multi-house owning and management so there is no logical reason why the existing archaic settings shouldn't change is there?

Other than to give loyal customers who not only run one account but play multiple accounts or who for whatever reason would have a need for multicoownership something to enhance their 'enjoyment' of UO.

This game is supposed to be for the players 'enjoyment' isn't it? So what is the big deal if they allow us to coown the houses we pay for on OUR characters.

Just need to remove the limit on the number of co-owners.

I don't care if any other functionality is added or not. Heck they'd probably screw something up if they messed with it any more than necessary.

Would also be very nice if in 2D one could remove folks at the end of the list. Am not sure what the limit is but after a certain number folks can't be removed. KR is even worse since after some number you can't even see who has access let alone remove them.
