Can the new EMs please either give items out on every shard or not at all.

Sorry but the olde EM thing as raised its head again

I play on Europa and try make the odd event..our EMs give prizes to be displayed in the EM prize hall..for all to see.. and not given directly to the player so they can run off and sell it for millos

I just want clarification form the devs wether EMs can make uber or unique...or even say only 1 of 10 unique items...willy nilly to give out to freinds or participants while other shards get none???

Take the coloured ''throwing pies'' versus ''no pies'' !!!!- just fun ???

And other shards have had many items handed out - just look on the rares forum season7 event items list!! its crazy!!

The GLOBAL Evenst give the same/similar rewards for ALL SHARDS!!

The pies are not shard specific...and they are "messana's pies" I have them on at least 4 different shards....from 4 different EMs.....

Edit: not sure if that answers you at all, and I obvious do not know about Europa's Ems so...yea might be something to do with them.

Nothing over powered is being created or distributed. This was the major cause for concern. The EMs are authorized to give out decorative or collectable items in reasonable amounts(no 1 item super uniques to dupe) so long as it has no effect on player effectiveness.

Take a look at whats been given out. Nothing has been God mode. It won't be like when char xfers first came out and 4 guys on pacific bought 75% of the best items available worth tens of billions of gold and proceeded to run around with 5/13 casting with 60% sdi. Or the 2 dexers named DaNgel that ran around swinging weapons that hit so fast because there was no real swing cap.

What we see are harmless collectables for nostalgia, fun, and collection by pixel *****s.

On that note, the legends EM released an item that may infringe on another companies' copy rights or be a shameless advertising plug.

If that were the case, half the player base would ahve to change their names. Most are named after chars from movies, books, commercials, tv, etc etc.
I really don't think that is an issue.

Well it would only matter if they were profiting from something that was "not" Captain Morgan's Rum, I am pretty sure you could even Sell "pixilated" versions of it and not actually be infringing on the particular copyright...since it is still not "rum" you are selling. lol

But with out profit, or promotion of something that is not the genuine thing, there is no infringement that much I know. So as long as they are not promoting some "fake" Captain Morgan's Rum it should be fine (unless they have changed the copyright law in the past year or two, OR if Captain Morgan actually has a monopoly on the name....and copyrighted the monopoly, which would also be illegal so I doubt it lol)

What do you care what happens on another shard? Are you on a shard that didn't get something?

We have multiple EM's so they can do unique things, if we were all supposed to get the same crap, then we would only need one EM.

The real fools are the ones paying "millions" or even "billions" for these items.

Still, I can't see what harm it has done. I just can't understand why anyone would want to be an EM with nonsense criticism like this.

But i see some shards giving out items ''ten a penny'' mainly all going on resale- uber or not...and they still selling for millos because they are unique or 1of10 items etc etc....and other shards give out nothing .hey like on europa u get a nice prize on display in the prize hall-which in itself is cool but should not all shards do the same???..or if they give out items to players make em no trade- no drop items!!!!

Unless Mythic make the sale of gold for real life cash illegal, then this could come under the copyright laws.
Since the Item is a representation of a real life product and i assume is worth alot of gold in-game, It therefore becomes worth RL cash itself.
It's the gold that is paid for it that makes it break the copyright laws and said company could frown very much on it being sold in a game to minors.
Bad publicity and all that.

Mythic should take a very close look at this as it could possibly lead to 'miss-understandings' and we know how much they cost in the U.S.A.

I know a player that has very well developed characters on quite a few shards, and regularly shows on Legends for events tho it is not his 'home' shard. Do I begrudge him some trinket tho he does not call Legends home? Of course not... he participated in the event, we all had fun and where the trinket *he* earned ends up is really no business of mine.

Well aside from bad publicity, I am still fairly sure it is not infringing on the copyright, the copyright is related to a product, and we are not trading "rum", but again it is sort of boarder lined and the law is "by interpretation" so...anything goes, you just have to be able to make it convincing. heh
