I'd like to read more about the Vanguards and the new greater tameing pets but I can't seem to find any reading on them. I'd like to tame one of the vanguards mounts if it's possible.

Yes, the Vanguards are still attacking. According to one of my guildmates, they spawn at 3, 6, 9 and 12. They are currently in Cove, Papua, Serpent's Hold and Nujelm in both Tram and Fel.

what time zone is it? or is it shard specific?

I believe they spawn at midnight UO-time. Buy a clock at a tinker shop and double-click it and wait until it says midnight...

At least that´s how it used to work in Cove...
