Can Someone PLEASE get me off the Customer Service Merry-Go Round??

Okay I have been trying to get a GM to do something about a character with a disgusting, sexually explicit name. I been seeing this character around for about a month. I have paged on him four times and all four time I get the samething, "No Character exsists by this name."
I have tried to email GM reviews but I get a message stating that GM Reveiws is only for suspended or treminated accounts. Um, okay.

So I tried the 1-866 number...Another strike out.

I have written Jeremy...also a strike out since she didn't even reply to let me know she received my email.

So I call the number I found for EA in Redwood City, CA...struck out once again..They say they do not support UO anymore I need to contact EA Mythic.
umm, okay.

I contact EA Mythic at the ONLY phone number I find for them...stuck out once more....They don't support UO only DAOC. The guy was extremely sweet and wanted to help. He didn't know anything about UO so there wasn't really anything he could do. He was also very confused as to why California said what they said.

Please get me off this Customer NO service Merry-go round, I have motion sickness ya know and I'm getting nauseous ...LOL

I can't post the character's name because I'd be violating the Stratics ROC. If you want to know PM me and I will tell you. You can also run the name through the character search on uo.com and you will find them on Legends shard.

Its just really sad when they can not or will not even enforce the ROC in UO.

(never used the filtering thing so dunno)

I know thats not really the point, but it sounds like you can't get them to do anything so maybe that'd at least stop you seeing it.

It does but the person in UO Tech says that's NOT their department, and the person in Accounts says its NOT theirs either. When you ask well who do I contact, they just repeat the samething that they are sorry but its not their department....Oh well.

I don't think the filter will work because it's a phrase and none of the words alone are bad by themselves, but strung together in THAT phrase well its nauseating. My knee jerk reaction on seeing it was.."eww gross! and I immediatly paged a GM."

While I've not gone to the point of paging on someone because of their name I definitely understand why people do it.

Personally I hate stupid names because it detracts from the fantasy / RP part of the world. I don't page though because I know other people are entitled to have their names and frankly I don't like bothering the GM's.

Some people play this game with their young children, etc... and don't want to expose them to filth. And believe me, I've seen some names (as I'm sure we all have) that are absolutely ridiculous.

If the people who page on names need to get a hobby... perhaps the people who think its funny, or great to create sexually explicit names need to mature (I'd say grow up, but sadly, some of the people making those names are adults).

lol, agreed, but it's an interesting test of the System, he truley did "travel the world" just to try and report and offensive name, that says something. UPDATE:

Jeremy is looking into it for me. Due to EA's freaking Privacy policy I will not know about it , IF anything is done. The character in question still shows up in the UO.com character search. Methinks I discover a exploit, which is why the GMs can't see the character. Here's hoping they can fix it, cause God only knows how the person is doing.

To the people dissin' me because I paged on the character's name. BEFORE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE AND I WILL PM YOU BACK WITH THE CHARACTER"S NAME! I CAN NOT post in this thread because it violates the Stratics RoC/ToS. Not just the posting of the name but the name its self.

Any other smarty pants comments please keep them to yourself, because I was following the rules. Unfortunatly too many UO players now days think the rules simplely do not apply to them. I wonder what those that think this way do when you get a speeding ticket? Do you sit there and tell the cop that "You can speed if you want to cause you pay taxes and that intitles you to speed?" or do you claim you weren't speeding even though the cop's radar gun says you were doing 85 in a Construction zone??? Sad because this is same mentality of the 25 yr old woman who hit and killed a construction worker in Tulsa area recently. Her response when arrested was " what was he doing in my way in the middle of the highway?".(I wish I was making her response up

) Now a little boy doesn't have a daddy anymore. IMHO, People who will break the rules of a simple game will think nothing of break the rules(laws) in real life!

as for the rules, Ive seen some sick names recently. I page under physical harrassment (like reporting scripters) then target the player. When the dialog box pops up, just write what its about.

and at least you got a reply from Jeremy! I sent her an email about uogamecodes and never got a reply

sadly the site is still in poor condition and no recent attempts to fix the log in screen.

Good for you going through all the effort to get a response to this. I have neices, nephews and two kids who show interest in UO and may soon be playing. For them it is nice to know that the ROC is being enforced. Dont let any one give you crap for paging on an obscene name. Providing of course that the name is obscene or in violation of the ROC.
I must wonder however why one would have to go to all the trouble to get a response. On a similiar note, I paged on a speed hacker who was speeding in front of at least ten to fifteen other players and could not get a gm to respond while this speeding player blipped all over yew not even trying to hide the fact that he was speed hacking.
Cheaters and violators of the ROC and TOS seem to be validated by UO's total lack of timely and professional responce to bad and illegal game behavior. Hopefully, one day this will change.
