Well, I normaly would say that you should be playing the Enhanced Client anyway

but seriously:

* Try starting the Classic Client as administrator
* Check your firewall, maybe it blocked the CC

I kinda agree with Merion about the EC..

but make sure you didn't get stuck in a patch.. if I remember right in the Classic Client folder there is a folder called Patch or Patches that should be empty if everything patches correctly.

Worst case, reinstall and re-patch...
copy your char files in case install wipes em, shouldn't but then again sh*t happens...
