Can Newbie Wooden Shields be enhanced?

Came across one recently. Can they be enhanced? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't know, but enhancing it would add properties not allowed on blessed items. It could, quite probably, loose the 'blessed' tag.

Yes they can be enhanced as can newbie leather gloves and newbie weapons, they remain blessed afterwards.
