If I tame a pet then release it, can I tame it again? Then repeat to raise skill?

Thanks in advance for your replies

No skill gain for you. Any pet you previously tamed is retamable with no effort.

A pet previously tamed and released is then harder to tame for the next person who tries.
UO Stratics - Animal Taming

that calculator will show you the skill required for each subsequent retame by another person.

Ok, Well i have 2 accounts,
Is it possible for me to macro taming with 1 character from each account on the same animal but alternating turns, and gain skill?

I believe anybody who has previously tamed the pet will find it difficulty 0 to retame. And besides, if you'd look at the table and read the post carefully you'd notice that the difficulty goes up each time it's tamed and thus will quickly become too hard to tame for your two chars. You can probably tame it once for each character and that only if the 2nd has a higher overall taming skill by about 5 points. I encourage you to read the stuff on stratics about taming, all of these questions are very prominently answered there.

There is a limit of 5 players taming the same pet. Once it reaches 5 it says:

"This animal has had too many owners"

For each new owner the taming difficulty goes up. In some cases the 3rd owner breaches the 120 mark and makes the pet untamable even for a legendary tamer. This infact increases the command difficulty as well so beware!

Transferring (selling) a pet avoids this difficulty raising.

What I do is at the jehelom farms ill tame with the 1st tamer, the one with the lower skill, rename then tame with my 2nd tamer, higher skill, rename release.

Sometimes there another player there, other times I release a drake outside the pen to slowly knock off the previously tamed. I use the drake because it give the 2nd tamer plenty of time to gain from it.
