(Question) can antique be enhanced?

I tried to find the answer for myself..... but i came up with nothing conclusive ... can an item with "Antique" property still be enhanced? ( in this particular instance with black smithy ) ?

I just tried enhancing two random antiques I had laying around, a sword and some leather armor and it gave me this message both times: "This item is already enhanced with the properties of a special material." I don't think it is possible.
