Can a galleon be sunk?

I have a few questions regarding the High Sea expansion.

1) If i were to dock my galleon at a coastline in Felucca, can another player sail right next to it and start firing at it?

2) After taking sufficient damage, can you sink a galleon, or will they just be immobile?

1) yes

2) after taking sufficient damage, the ship will be scuttled (immobile), it will not sink

Better question would be "Will they do this?" To which I have to say Yes... likely they will. Having sailed in Fel many times I've seen a vast number of scuttled ships. I can only assume that another player has done this not that they were scuttled fighting and then just abandoned .... since you can only have one ship in the water at a time.

Why I don't know couldn't say ..... scuttling a ship no one is on will grant you nothing really... not sure you can access the hold of someone elses ship afterwards or not but likely no... seems more costly than entertaining but maybe that is just me.

They are correct that the ship will not literally 'sink' but will become scuttled. Once it is scuttled, the hold may be accessed by anyone, and the cannons (if any) can also be taken.

At least that's the way it works on Siege. . . . Most of Siege's hardcore fishermen/women will hide their ships in an out of the way inlet, so that the "start tracking" command will make those at sea think that it is simply a 'house boat' (in someone's house, not out on the water). So for us, we hope that they do *not* fix that bug that shows the ships even if they are not on the water!

I can assure you MalagAste, If there is something in the hold I will scuttle the ship. I have acquired many tons of deeded fish, cannon ammo, trophy fish, misc. household stuffs and once I got a kitchen sink.

I really didn't get a kitchen sink, but you'd be surprised at what people stick in their boat hold. Hmm. Looking over that last sentence makes me chuckle a little.

If the ship is near shore/dock, you can dismantle the cannons and take those too.

Hum...

Well... good for me I never ever leave a ship in Fel. I do in Tram but it's not going to be attacked there.

Besides I don't leave anything of value on that ship it's got no guns, and the only thing in the hold is my fishing quest box. I don't leave anything else on there.

Learned my lesson after losing a ship once. Still stings after losing my only Yellow Polka Dot Bikini... Ship was fine one day gone the next. So I don't trust them anymore. If ever I take my Britannian ship out I'm sure to dry dock it afterwards. I'd hate to lose that.
