Bushido Mage

So I have seen some nice bushido mages and some of them have evasion with a mage weapon.

I know they have to have a minimum of 50 weapon skill, but my question is.... If I have a fencing mage weapon and 50 fencing skill for evasion which skill is UO going to use to calculate my defense; my 120 magery from mage weapon or 50 fencing?

Anyone run this template with evasion that can give me some insight please.

From what I understand evasion is calculated by Tactics, Bushido, and Anatomy.

Not magery or weap skill.

That's not right. You have to have minimum in the weapon skill of the weapon that you are holding, assuming you have enough bushido to cast. UBWS doesn't work either.

It'll use the 120 magery as defense, but you still need the 50 fencing to be able to cast the evasion spell.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the template looks like:

120 magery
120 eval
120 resist
120 bushido
120 parry
50 weapon skill
rest in med

You can get by with less bushido/parry but that weakens the whole point of the template. At most, I'd drop resist by 10 points and carry extra apples/pots with you.

Duration is based on bushido, tactics and anatomy. You get a 2 second bonus if you're over 100 on each.

The chance of evasion is based on bushido and parry, exactly like a normal parry check.

I run this template as listed above. It's actually quit effective if you can get 45 dci and over 140 Int. With crystalline and 140 int your spells do pretty damn good dmg without scribe. It's a fun build, but it's weak against a gang of disarm/archers.
