*Bundled Scrolls*

*Two of the three bundled scrolls are completely illegible due to the massive bloodstains that have caused the ink to run, but the third can be read as follows.* And so it was seen fit to protect the world from the perils of the Gods and their wrath. Each of the Gods discovered held an artifact that focused and amplified their powers, but in crafting these they neglected to make sure that their powers could not be turned against them. The artifacts were scattered amongst the lands in the wake of a great argument between the Gods, with only one still being known as to exist; Vulcan and the artifact he held.

He made his lair and temple within the depths of the earth, in a place that was filled with lava and heat, a cauldron of death and fire. It was the Gods arguing that caused the rift, and their artifacts reflected the weakness of character that caused this rift. Vulcan's Madness was the artifact of the God of the forge and fire, and it's brilliant red energies cascaded forth brightly and without any...*the rest of the scroll has been torn away*

Balandar: Who took the artifact?
Vulcan's Emissary: A short human woman.

Balandar: When was it taken?
Vulcan's Emissary: It was taken after Paws was first reopened, but before she destroyed the bridge.

Balandar: She destroyed the bridge?
Vulcan's Emissary: Yes...she knew that others would soon find the place. She intended them to waste their efforts further.

Balandar: Did she have a name?
Vulcan's Emissary: She did not give it...but that may not be what is important.

Balandar: What is important?
Vulcan's Emissary: She is similar to another who visited me before, many ages ago.

Balandar: Another?
Vulcan's Emissary: As similar as you humans can be. This was ages ago...when the city still stood above the grounds. But not long before it was rent asunder.

Balandar: How do we find the artifact now?
Vulcan's Emissary: Find the woman.

Miss Watson: Do you recall what she looked like?
Vulcan's Emissary: The first woman entered our realm shortly before the city of Paws was destroyed. And the woman had ragged, wild brown hair.

Gareth: human? elf? Gargoyle?
Vulcan's Emissary: Human.

Gareth: tall short?
Vulcan's Emissary: Short.

Darwars: can you give us a way to find her ?
Vulcan's Emissary: I cannot...once the artifact is bound we are unable to affect it. Now that the artifact is bound, the sands are falling.

Gareth: What type of outfit was she wearing? and colors if you remember
Vulcan's Emissary: She wore an outfit of treated leather. Black. She had a hooded shroud, but it burned in the fires of Vulcan's Realm. Her armor was treated against it...

Gareth: And this lava thingy what it do?
Vulcan's Emissary: Lava thing? The Vulcan's Madness artifact is no 'lava thing'. It is the counterpart to the Poseidon's Fury Crystal.

Kerrs Holley: how many counterparts are there
Vulcan's Emissary: There are four in all.

Vulcan's Emissary: I do not know. I am certain Vulcan himself could locate it...but he cares not for your kind. It must be unbound before it is too late.

Balandar: And if it is not unbound before time runs out....
Vulcan's Emissary: Then the fate of Montor, this place, and Paws will repeat itself.

Kerrs Holley: What signs can we search for that can be evident of these effects ?
Vulcan's Emissary: Distrustfulness. Paranoia. Nervousness. Hallucinations. It will soon progress further, until the hallucinations spread around her.

Kerrs Holley: can it be bound to anything ?
Vulcan's Emissary: Jewelry. Weapons. Shields. For its' power to be utilized, it must be something they carry When unbound it appears as a shimmering crystalline structure, that appears to have lava inside. If bound inexpertly, the container may give off a glow of light. If however one of an archmages skill bound it, it may be undetectable.
