bugged item?

Hey guys,

So i bought the Cuffs of the Archmage, and after my mana regen was sucking i noticed that the cuffs were not mage armor?? i looked up others on the vendor search and all other pairs are mage armor... is my item bugged? or is there a non-mage armor versionand i'm an idiot for not looking closer?

You can take away mage armour property so the previous owner must have done that.
