bugged character, any trick to fix it?

Friend did escort quests yesterday for compassion. On the 5th quest the escort vanished and so did the quest from the quest log. However, now she cannot accept another escort quest. We were hoping the server down/up would have fixed it, but it didn't. Anyone know a method other than GM intervention to fix it?

in town escort or dungeon one? try one from the dungeon, I forget which one has the orcs with the npc's in the lil jail to rescue and gate out.

I had this happen to a character of mine. Took a GM to clear it.

GM cleared it. Took about 30 minutes in the queue. Not too bad in UO terms.

I get this happening with prisoner escorts from time to time.

I wait five minutes and go try and take a town escort. So far it's always let me take the town one and fixed the character.

There is a system built in to reset that quest. Basically - even though you can not accept a quest, go to any town and find an NPC Noble (Must be a noble to be able to get the quest) who needs an escort and then accept the quest from him and complete it. This should reset you so that the other quest-givers will work.
