Bugged Alacrity scroll?

I used an Alacrity scroll, Peacemaking, it gave me 0.5 and then a few seconds later I got the message:
'The intense energy dissipates. You are no longer under the effects of an accelerated skillgain scroll'
What happened to my 15 minutes? Has this happened to anyone else? It didn't even last a minute...

Were you using it in conjunction with a Pet?
There seem's to be some cross-over code problems with the new Pet "powerhour" and the old Char powerhour which was then replaced with Scrolls.
Seem's the pets powerhour might have timed out (as we know this code is borked anyway and can last from 1 minute to 60) and it took your powerhour (15mins) instead or also?

I'm not 100% on this but your not the 1st it's happened too.

No no I don't have a tamer, it was on a pure bard. Never had it happen before, just found it really odd.

I had the same issue with an Inscription one. I used it, made 3 scrolls and poof, got the message you are no longer under the accelerated skill gain.

Oh well it's not just me then, hmmm very annoying especially if you bought the darn things!

Had you recently used bard skills in PVP, or in the presence of another player's pet (where it was in the area effect of area peace)? Some barding and magical effects (like enemy of one for a chiv user) had their durations go wonky if a pet was in the AoE or had damaged the same target, during the city invasions.

No the character has never done pvp and has hardly left my house for a while, not had any interaction that day with any other char or anyone's pet. But thank you all for the helpful suggestions!

I've only used alacrity scrolls a few times and it's been a few years since the last time I used one, so this may be a really dumb question. However, is it possible that you bought a partially used alacrity scroll?

No once you click the scroll and accept the bonus it's gone... it doesn't poof at the end to it's time.

And I just used 3 this week had no issues at all.

I think something must have caused a bug, but no idea how or why, I was in my house and there was nobody else there, no pets, just me, it will probably never happen again...
