Bug with trash barrels or unmentioned change?

I placed at an idoc earlier and immediately secured (to toss in the extra weight items) a trash barrel (on the steps to the plot) to clean up my new spot but the items will not delete. I waited a solid 30min but items didn't delete so I axed and replaced but items still will not delete.

Is this a bug or an unmentioned change?

Only thing that sticks out you may have done wrong is, I'm surprised you are allowed to place a trash can on the steps. Try place it inside?

Did you get the message that items would be deleted?
You say you secured a trash barrel, I assume you used the command 'I wish to place a trash barrel'?

I figured it out. One of the chests had some blank commodity deeds in it which caused nothing to be deleted. Once I removed those everything deleted in the 3min timer as intended.

It's kind of weird.

By securing it I think he means he said "I wish to secure this" to fit the extra weight..

The unused commodity deeds have been doing that for some time.
