Bug: Lord Denthe's Journal in my pack

I have Lord Denthe's Journal in my pack.
Clicking on it yields "I cannot offer you the quest again."
I can't drag it out of my pack and drop it onto the ground.
I can't seem to drop it anywhere.
I can't drag it and drop it onto Verity the Librarian.
It is blessed.
How do I get rid of Lord Denthe's Journal?

I have two of those on one of my characters. It seems that I read long ago that you have to call a GM. I've not tried that because I read how long it takes to get a response. I have other characters with similar quest items. I'm looking forward to hearing a definitive answer also.

There is a trick to getting it out of your pack by placing 125 single items in your pack. Then make a macro to create food. Hold the journal on your cursor, then click the create food macro. When you drop the journal in your pack you will have too many items and it fall to your feet. Can also send them to bank with BoS I believe.

Holy cow, that actually works! I've had two of those in that back pack for two to three years I bet. lol Thanks for the info.

Actually it was probably someone who took the time to think thru the game mechanics on a level that I wouldn't consider....

hmm, I always use "Equip last weapon" while holding the quest item I wanted to get rid of on my cursor, same end result.

I never did try the BoS thing though.

the problem with that quest is that quest is the original quest guy was removed long ago, and where you are told to take the book now, the library or something, he wont take it either. i also had the book for years in my pack.
i didnt know the trick, got rid of mine when i transferred the character and just left it to decay in the transfer crate. i almost miss it now lol

I figured out that 'trick' about 9-10yrs ago while wanting to decorate a house with quest items. Some of them have such cool names & funky looks (Portrait of the Bride, Bag of Jewels, Sabrix's Eye, etc,...) One of my favorite is the amber from Prism that says right on it ' Destroyed When Dropped'. Ive got a few pieces locked down at home

UO has since patched most of these items to actually disappear when dropped out of your packs w/ the 'trick'. If locked down they can no longer be moved or they *POOF*. Most quest items in game are like this now, the exception being event quest items. My guess is they haven't hunted down the code for the old finished event quest items b/c its would be a PITA.

I still have 'Virtue Infused Ink', 'Order Infused Ink', as well as 'Virtue' and 'Order' Crystals from the win a house in SA event quest chain - all can still be moved. I'm not saying I was the 1st person to figure this out but I was the 1st person out of the players I know on Atlantic
