The car was unfortunately completely totaled. I will see if I can post some pics of the car later.
Amazingly, I came out of it with only minor injuries...mostly cuts and bruises, some bad skin abrasions from the seatbelt, bruised ribs, a nasty cut near my eye, and a concussion. I regained conciousness hanging upside down in the seatbelt. Once I realized I was upside down and my car could not be seen from the road, I crawled around in the car and found my Mag-Lite, and then proceeded to kick the door open, which was no easy task since the car was embedded in mud and sticker bushes. I think it took me about an hour or so to climb out of the ravine, after falling down it about 20 times, of course directly into sticker bushes and thorny plants, ouch. Once I got to the road, it took awhile of flashlight signaling until someone finally stopped and called 911.
My BF went back to the accident scene the next day and found my purse, cell phone, and leather jacket that fell out of the car when it was towed out. I'm still missing one shoe.
I don't think I would have survived without my seatbelt. So always click it on, you never know when a bad accident could happen. The ambulance crew and police officers were all telling me I was a very lucky girl to be able to climb out of there alive, let alone without any broken bones or stiches required.
I can tell you that the next morning the sunrise was the most beautiful thing, and the birds singing was like music to my ears. I am very blessed, and very thankful to the lady that stopped to help me, the EMTs and Highway Patrol that helped me get to the hospital.
Thank you all for your concern and well wishes! *hugs all around*
