Brother got 48 hour jail sentence, stupid reason.

Some one was willing to pay 50mil for a race change token(lol) and my brother made the comment:
"Wow 50 mil? your gettin ****d"
48 hour ban for saying ****,
I lol`d

anyways hes stuck in jail 24 hours past his sentence waiting for a GM to let him out...
anyone had this problem before?

In UO, there are some words you just can't say. **** is one of those words. The reason stems from the very early days of UO. Murderers would kill some poor soul then simulate a **** on the corpse. Since at least 99 (maybe earlier, that was a long time ago) saying **** is an instant trip to jail. I saw this happen to a friend a few years ago. He said "****" in a sentence that was not directed at any player or group in a context that could not be taken as offensive, but got a temporary ban for it. To me, it's stupid.

I bet if 80 percent of uo players said **** in game on a regular basis the dev team would declare bans for it unjust.

This is one of the main reasons it made the ban list in the first place. To many players were saying it, and the GMs got tired of being paged on it. I think its under the no tolerant ban like the N word. Perma ban on the first offence. Unless it was changed.

Saying that word at all is unacceptable in any context. People need to learn how to speak correctly in public. This includes online games. It's not funny. It is not "cool" to say or type the word. The person that put that word in a sentence should get more than 48 hours imo.

I think it's unjust how grapes have been discriminated against by not getting the same type time in game as other items, such as apples, because of this. Something must give, I say!

Ya ****d is an insta gone. If you say stuff in global though nothing is done about it. We had a kid on ATL spamming every racist word in the book. Probably 50 people paged on him. Pretty much if you don't like what is being said in global either leave or ignore them. If its avoidable, its not bannable.



BTW, I have been paged on for saying the N word in global. Nothing was done, and I assure you, they paged on me. It was noon too, the offices were open.

It'd be appropriate if the same mechanics were in place for folks who start in on racially-charged or homophobic rants in-game, but I've never ever seen anything done in those cases no matter how many people were paging.
