Bringing Players Back to Seige

I got this idea from another thread of mine in the Uhall from a Seige Member.... [Tina Small ]

Here's a little food for thought:



If you have friends who haven't played the official version of UO in years but have perhaps been playing a free "classic" shard, maybe you could get some of them to come back. Maybe it'll cure some of your current boredom with the game too. Starting afresh and from scratch and with danger lurking around every corner.

I say let's start our own grass-roots effort to get some of those old players who defected to the free shards to come back to THIS version of UO. Do it Siege-style, though. I don't think you'll regret it.

So are ppl up for it? Recruiting ppl from "other shards" and bringing them back to seige? [And how about other games too ] Imagine if we could get this shard rolling again.

Yes, I am all for it. But it is something that some of us have been trying to do for years with little or no success. What it really needs is someone who carries a bit of weight to make the appeals. This was demonstrated a few months back when Petra started an initiative which offered guest accommodation to anyone wanting to try the shard out. This was a great success and brought quite an influx of new folk. But when Mr Average of Siege tries anything, people generally tend to ignore it. This is partially our fault as Uhall threads promoting Siege frequently degenerate into mud-slinging matches between Siege/non-Siege players.

I tried to get Cal to give the shard some publicity, but he insisted that they never favour one shard over another. I wanted to explain that it was one thing to favour, say, Altantic over Pacific or something, but in the case of Siege it was almost a different product line and it was in their interests to promote some diversity in the game and possibly appeal to a few people who want a classic shard. But he wouldn't listen.

I can tell you one thing...Siege players are still playing UO I see arounf 25 every day on Atl..and TNT is playing with alot on a free shard.

I do think people would come back...most kept their accounts active in hopes siege comes back!
