Bring back Weapon Special Toggling while pre-casting...

This change alone castrated all the hybrid templates that made UO so unique and IMO set it apart from all other stringent "class" based games. If I remember correctly, this was removed b/c the combined power of an uncapped Weapon Spec and the uncapped SDI damage that people were doing before everything was nerfed to oblivion. Now we have a bit more balance to this game, can we please restore this toggling ability to allow for hybrid templates to be more viable now?

Anyone else agree?

I think spell channeling weapons should act as they currently do with special moves...

But non spell channeling weapons should allow a:

Pre-cast,

Equip,

Choose Special,

Hit,

Cast the pre-cast/Weapon Drops to backpack.

This will allow for high damage combos while avoiding gimp insta-kills.

Personally, I didn't like that change but switched up to GE potions instead of spells. You can still use special moves with a GE target cursor up (and also cast certain spells that don't create a target cursor e.g. Wither, though obviously you can't do all 3 at the same time as the special would toggle off when you cast the Wither).

Hm, seems like a good idea. So casting skills that don't require SC would be able to use specials while casting, but Magery and Mysticism would be a bit more restricted.
