A little birdie told me there will be another invasion tonight. Time will tell.

Luna needs to burn. To bad it was reverted. For once we get some action that is spontainious and someone crys about it. What we need is some new lands, we can call them carebare land. where thing are always safe from any dangers of the world. You never need to lock anything down cause it wont disaper. And all you have to do is wish for an item and it will appear in your bag. and if your really good you'll never have to work for anything again it will be just given to you.
these are only a few of my suggestions as to how we can make the game better

YAY - Rebuild Magincia from Luna's rubble I say!!!
It was exciting to see more deaths in Luna tonight.
The next Obit Column I have a feeling will be all Luna deaths!
Vidma was in her house when this happened I can see why she would be upset. Granted she should of hid or logged off, but she didnt see any danger cuz she was in her house in Luna. but there is no reason to call someone a fool over it.
Lady Lava tell your cousin Vidma im sorry for her loss. and if she needs seeds PM me here. Im always willing to give away my uo hubbys seeds when he isnt around.
Hmm, so if there was an event outside my house in the middle of nowhere, and i was sittin in it afk and died, i should be pretty pissed? LOL. Damn luna people..
It wasn't that she died it was more of what she lost because of the death. Now no one can say they wouldn't be upset if it happened to them and lost things, cuz of something like this. I have lost stuff to because of invasions. Not knowing a town was under attack recalling in on my crafter who as no defense, I was upset. of course I got over it. I think in the moment what upset me the most was not being able to get on another character on the account to get her loot. After awhile you laugh at yourself and think its not like I can't go and replace what I lost. I even lost a chest of rares worth 50 mil, because I released it got an icq totally forgot about the chest and logged off. Now I know to resecure my chests.
Maybe the attack will just be the Luna Bank, and we can all return to Britt Bank more room to stand around in Britt anyways, Ahh well just a thought.... :/

That's right. Luna is fine for vendor shopping. It's convenient. But we need to make the bank extremely uncomfortable for a week at least. Couple that with a WBB makeover, and we can get back to how it was. Then it won't seem so crammed when we're spamming our buy and sell text.

Oh I'd be upset..... but not with EA/UO/Or the DEV team... I'd be upset with my own stupidity....
1) Do not go afk... no matter how "Safe" you believe you are. First off because it's really in violation of the ToS..... secondly ... you never know what might happen.
2) Seriously if your going to be gone long enough for you to die.... your bones to decay and your body to vanish... you really ought to have LOGGED out... Takes what .25 seconds to click that little red X in the upper right corner of your screen.
3) Yes she lost stuff.... we've all lost stuff... Heck I've lost tons of things and as I said on UHall.... I've lost things that should never have been lost.
There are many, many things that can happen to you... someones pet could go wild while you are afk and think your "safe" someone could purposely lure something onto you... as they do afk script miners and such... (Not hardly likely in Luna but not totally unheard of)...
Also... I'm assuming this was a vendor house... therefore largely open... and she being a blue and a player was likely looking like a tasty treat to any spell casting nasty that spawned. It's a public house... completely open and accessible... Now if it were built like a fell private home.... Then she would have been "safe".... But it's not and she wasn't.
Crying about it and how it wasn't fair or right isn't gaining any sympathy from me... sorry but it's not...
First off.... It's a GAME. They were Pixels... and they were plants... so you spend another week or two and grow some more. I mean same thing would have happened if her RL house suddenly burned down and she lost her PC and everything she owned..... do you think she would have cried foul if for some reason she had been suddenly unable to log into UO...
She should be glad all she lost was a few plants... Others have lost much more to hackers. She still has her characters.
Had she not been AFK she could have easily called guards or run away.....
Had she done the smart thing and logged out... she'd still have her things.
I stand by what I said... She should be angry with herself... as that is where the blame lies... not in EA games UO the EM's or the DEV team.
No one told her to leave her character unattended. Was her choice... Like blaming the Cigarette companies for your addiction... They didn't put that Cigarette in anyones hand... they didn't come and light the match either. They sold a product...
Like blaming the cops for you losing your license after driving drunk...

I've taken on the carebear mind set. Its all about me and my time, screw the rest of you. With work and family my game time is very limited so what little i get is very important to me. Whats to say that some once elses time is more important than mine? We see it every day with people complaining about people being in "THIER" fav. hunting spot and the rude reply on gives. Or the fact that peolpe really don't want to have to work to get items anymore just give me give me give me. And to top that because of someone stupidy the lose some items they through a fit. What about the items that are drop in fel to the insurance bug? We sould have reverts for that.

I see your point of view because I always hide my characters when I log for the night or when I go afk I stop what Im doing even if Im on my tamer I hide. For any reason I never leave my characters out in the open. but I can see her point to because she had no idea what was going to happen at that moment when she went afk in her house in luna. bet she doesnt do that no more.
. Ya it is a game and some do in the heat of the moment let the little things get to them more than they should.
You are right she can grow more plants that is why I offered her more seeds if she wants them. Now I would never come here and say I was quitting or cry over something like this, because I know you would all miss me
and I would never want to put any of you threw that.
I dont know why they even waste time putting things out to spawn for us when they should just place everything in our banks and back packs while we sit at the WBB socializing.
Well, VIDMA is indeed my rl cousin and posted about her upset and leaving the game over loss of everything on UOHall.
What she has not posted is that the reason why she was afk is her 3 and a half year old son hit his head and she had to rush him to the hospital. Over 15 stitches.
Many people posted hateful things on UOHall not knowing all the details and I think she did not post about her son because it has been very upsetting to her and she did not want it to color her point. That being is we should be warned about attacks esp if it is an area were crafters hang, which Luna is. The EMs started the Luna invasion on GL one day ahead of time without permission is what I have heard and read.
A lot of peeps are not into plants but the newsest of the new colors take MONTHs of cross pollinating to get. She had 7 weeks of work and time on her body when she died. Just think if the game did a 7 week revert on you. You would not be happy.
I myself never go afk without logging out but if a love oned was injured logging out would not be on my mind.
Regardless my cousin ( VIDMA) has left UO for good and I have taken over her account but have no intentions of growing plants, not my thing. She has colors that I do not think anyone or very few have grown. Her vendors are still up at the EVIL GARDEN in Luna and if you want one of the hard to get colors now is the time.

People get worked up of the most simplest thing and then come here to vent and asume EA to fix it to fit their needs.
I really dont care. I've lost a ton of stuff over the years. some of them my fatlt some of the do to bugs, but i dont think people have the right to come and complain about it and when it doesn't get fix they throw a huffy fit and stomp off. The luna revert was the right thing but just take a sec and think of the hundreds of players that lost a days worth of hard work for a few people, Sure thier are thing that would have been lost, but i learned right away to hold onto nothing in this game cause at anytime it could be done.
Then my question -- not meant rudely, but it may sound that way -- is shouldn't the priority be "Hey, I got my son taken care of?" I understand that she lost some work. We've all been there and had that happen. 7 weeks? Back before you could lock stuff down in your house, I lost my keys and everything I owned in one night. That was months. Big deal. Live, learn, move on. I get that it is disappointing... but again, getting mad at EA and the EMs is silly. Too much finger pointing for stuff that is under your own control is not good for anyone. If it happened to me, I'd be upset, yeah... but as Malag posted above, I'd be upset at myself for not logging out.
Okay, really... I'm sorry you think that the game needs to warn you every time you might be in danger. Personally, I think it's rather silly. And, I like how you're trying to pin it on the EM as something done "without permission," rather than the miscommunication that it was (as has been posted elsewhere). What this means is it got started a day early because they thought it was supposed to start. Regardless, nothing in what was posted on UO.com indicates Luna is going to be under attack to the extent that was ("The madman let them loose on Luna. No place is safe, not even here," is hardly a signal of all hell reigning loose).
There's something about spontaneity that is worthwhile. It brings excitement back to a game that is by and large wash, rinse, repeat. And... no offense... but if you're not in guard protection, you're not safe.
But it's not exactly the end of the world either.
Okay, but let's put this into perspective... your cousin's argument was that she felt that she was safe, which means she did take the moment to consider what was going on before she went to attend to her real life issue. It would have taken three seconds to log off... even if my mom was having a heart attack, I could spare those three seconds.

I cant help but say "I told you so" when I read this.
I tend to receive quite a bit of hate to when I post and the hate is always cheered on by people that mod this place. Clearly a bloody child would make anyone forget about the game and attend to their loved one. But even in this situation, hypocrisy still seem to rise to the surface on this board. Granted I wouldn't go back on the board and say "I quit" after such a happening, but the hate your cousin received was mostly speculation, lies etc such as she was macroing unattended. Clearly she wasn't
I tend to use the word hypocrite alot because it is fairly clearly expressed here. Personally I would like to see those who said such things get 15 infractions. I've gotten that just from telling jokes. If this place is going to be Nazi about even jokes then should be that way across the board and not just to people who complain.
