When the boomstick came out I was quite disappointed of the mediocre rendition compared to Army of Darkness.

Pick up "Evil Dead" and "Evil Dead 2" first, or you'll miss the backstory... it's 3rd in a trilogy. Of sorts, anyway... I still can't QUITE make the connection between the first 2 and Army of Darkness
But they're great movies anyway.

It was the Necronomicon (Book of the Dead), I know it was in the 2nd movie and the third. It took him back.
