Book for Alacrity Scrolls not accepting scrolls.

After securing a scroll of alacrity book in my castle and setting access to friends, every time I try to add a scroll I receive a message saying that the book had to be locked down in a house. I first locked the book down on the west side of the top floor, 3 tiles from edge. I also tried in the middle of the top floor. Anyone else having the problem? I'm using CC for this.

I don't know if its what is causing your problem and I finally worked out what caused me the same thing. I was securing the book and not LOCKING it down. Hope its the same cos ive no idea if it isn't.

you have to "i wish to lock this down" and not "i wish to secure this"

That was it guys. I guess I've been away from uo too much lately. It said it was locked down and secure, which sounds better than just being locked down as it is now. But it works and I was able to set access security also. Can anyone explain the difference between, I wish to secure this and I wish to lock this down - I assume there must be different purposes.

you really just asked this question after the game's been out 16 years? seriously?
I'm sorry, but you've got to draw the line somewhere - that's like asking where Britain is

If you lock a container full of items down, all items are literally locked down and cant be pulled from the container unless you release the bag. I'm not even sure if you can release one item in a locked down container. Locked down and secured containers will allow removal of any item as long as a player has permission to use it at all. I could articulate a lil better I but I trust you'll glean the gist of it...........

You used to be able to release items in a locked down container, but people were abusing it, so they changed it.

There is a new function called "Retrieve" Works on any Locked Down Item, even in containers. Try it.

I guess it just never came up for me. I've always secured my items and I have a vague recollection about locking something down when I had been given permission in another player's home. And btw, where is Britain? :p
