Bonding timer - Reset?

I just claimed my pet and fed it.
I had forgotten to put on my jewelry to get my taming
high enough and got the message saying my taming skill
had to rise in order for it to bond.
putting my jewelry back on and re-feeding it gave no
results.

Does that mean I reset the entire bonding period?

Stable your pet for another day and try feeding it again tomorrow and see what happens. If that doesn't work then I'd suggest stabling for another week before you try again.

I actually tested that out of curiosity. I had tamed a unicorn for my archer by transferring the taming from my tamer. After 8 days I got the unicorn out, didn't put on my jewelry, fed it an apple, got the message I needed higher taming. I then put my jewelry on, fed it and it bonded. No reset.
