Bonding question, I searched first, I swear!

Alright I looked all over and I couldn't find an answer to my question, or at least clarification. UO website says you have to own an animal for 7 days and it'll bond. People on the forums say you have to keep it at "wonderfully happy" for 7 days straight in order for your pet to bond.

My question is, where did people get the "wonderfully happy" 100% 7 days requirement from? What happens if my pet is "extremely happy" for a few minutes before I feed it? Does that reset the timer?

I know I know, I could just be patient and wait a whole week for the whole stable solution, but, I'd like to "play" not wait a week for my pet to bond in the stables. Any help is appreciated :p.

Everytime you feed the pet it returns to "wonderfully happy" loyalty.

I have used pets during the 7-day bonding period. They have disobeyed me (loyalty goes down) as i used them and still bonded after the 7 days. You wil have to feed it to get it to bond anyways.

Just don't let it go wild. If it does go wild and you retame it, the 7 days starts over.

Just be careful with unbonded pets. If they are not bonded, they will not have a ghost for you to rez. Once they are dead, they stay dead. I had some close calls...

The timer does not reset if the pet's loyalty drops. Just feed it as soon as you can, so it does not lose more loyalty than you realized, and go wild.

I feed when I tame the pet then 7 days later (usually 8 to be certain I'm not early) and that's it. I prefer to stable the pet for safety's sake, but I've bonded pets outside the stables without a hitch. That's it as far as I'm concerned.

I don't worry about keeping a pet at wonderfully happy for the entire 7 days, and I've never had trouble bonding with a pet. So that would suggest that you don't need to worry about it either.
