I wanted to point out a thread I added to the Craftsman forum on bod rewards for Smith Bods. This shows you how some bods are not worth filling because of the low value of the reward vs the inherent rarity of the ingots.

You can read more here : http://stratics.com/community/threads/bod-analysis-smith-noncombinable-shields.297334/

For example is crazy that you get a Blacksmith +15 scroll for finishing a Valorite 20 Ring large bod. that takes 52x20= 1,040 Val ingots and 5 bods that are very RARE to find (or expensive to bribe up) and your reward is a PowerScroll worth about 30k that you can also get from a chain 10 ex set that takes only 4 bods and is Copper so 1000 times easier to get the bods and ingots. This is why Bods are still borked and make NO sense.

All Val sets (Ring/Chain/Plate) should give high end hammers due to scarcity of these bods. They set the rewards to favor plate because it was harder to craft - but a 4 piece Ring bod is HARDER to complete than a 3 piece Chain mail because there is one more bod to get. If anything the order of rewards should go Chain/Ring/Plate since its 3/4/6 for the number of bods in a large. Yet I digress...

Shameless bump here. This is something that should REALLY be looked into. I can understand the reasoning
when the system first came out, however I feel the rewards need to be adjusted accordingly. Maybe even some
randomness (50/50 chance on a scroll or nice hammer)

In all honestly, I do believe they added 'some' randomness to the high end hammer/scroll rewards. So sometimes you get a 120 scroll or an aggy hammer or even a verite or aggy hammer for an expected aggy hammer bod. However, these percentages have not been documented and frankly not something you can rely on. No one wants to do a 120 smith bod with tons of ingots on the 5% chance that it might be a Verite or Val hammer. If there is one thing the devs should have learned over the years is players like predictability. If I put the work/materials in to do X I want my Y reward. Not a percent chance of Y if I'm lucky and the RNG is in my favor.

The issues with the smith bod system are the following:

1 - All Normal Bods are lower class than EX. This should take into account ore type and THEN NM/EX because the ore type designates the rarity of the bod. It is not 'harder' to complete a 15 EX Dull Copper Bod than it is a Shadow 15 NM bod - but the reward charts say it is. It is easier because DC bods drop more often as does the ore.

It should be Iron NM/Iron EX/ DC NM/DC EX/ Shadow NM/Shadow EX etc as the bod reward charts go.

2 - The larges are out of order given you have the same chance to get Chain/Ring/Plate bods but you need 3 chain, 4 ring and 6 plate for larges. It should go Chain-Ring-Plate on the bod reward scale.

3 - The relative value of rewards should be the following :
Axe/Shovel/gloves/pickaxes
+5 Scroll
+10 Scroll
Colored Anvil
+15 scroll
Powder of Fort
+20 Scroll
DC Hammer
Shadow Hammer
+10 Ash
Copper Hammer
+15 Ash
Bronze Hammer
Gold Hammer
+30 Ash
Aggy Hammer
+60 Ash
Verite Hammer
Valorite Hammer

The charts are somewhat out of order with this value chain.

One simple way to fix all bod rewards is to simply assign points to these rewards and give points per bod based on difficulty of color/ex/qty and large/small and then let people buy any reward they want with the points. Then ALL bods are valuable and you get more value for high end bods that are both hard to find and hard to complete.

Yes WE know its sooo out of date its not funny..
Many bods like this one I find tossed out on the floor in the banks and craft vendors in towns. Bone too is a dead horse bod. Not a single thing worth making in that line..
In the thread I made for Small changes I asked for a change in the rewards to make them worth something... I doubt they are listening... or reading...
Oh btw.. have any of you tried to cut up large stacks of leather (the ones you cant put in your backpack) Dont bother.... seems they fixed that 15 year old bug..
So now you have to parcel out the leather to your holding weight and send to bank.
