Ok heres my 2 cents,
I used to buy BoDs, smithy iron or cloth, for 100 gold each. I had so many sellers it was maddening. Once I told them that .1 skill locked in either smithy or tailor (unlock and give up the ghost at 7 GM or 6LGM) gave them a free BoD, they were hitting the NPC's and my pocket book regularly. You get a free one like every hour i think...? They were only 1st lvl bods and were useless.
I then used to sit at the smithy in Luna and BURN (im talking 100's a hour) of the BoDs just for the turn in. (Remember back then you could only use SS's once every 24 hours, and there was NO remake amount button). Anyone that knew me could vouge for the amount of reward crap i'd spew on the luna smithy floor. I have 20 types of reward cloth and one spider silk extra white type, if theres any other types plz someone mention it. The only time I had any issues is when some ass thought I was some sort of AFK marco'er and they'd try to vomit forth 10000 explo pots in a single second (its happened to me). Only time I really panicked in any way was if i got below 300k ingots or 60k cloth. never had the guts to dip into the 48k of each type of the first level reward stuff, always used the 4 sheep spawns.
And with that total involvment in BoDs I got TOTALLY burned out on them. I found it was much easier to farm 500k in a few hours then spend months waiting for that Large to get all its pieces. Not to mention the attempt to farm my own ingots and cloth. Gave that up and bought ingots from the scripters (had to be, who else had 120k ingots in one quick ICQ, sometimes 4 times a DAY), and I bought all my cloth from noobs that were selling me BoDs (gawds I made them rich). Screw it.
Gave my entire clothing and leather to some newb when I quit. Clothing rewards are the easiest to get and the BoDs are even easier. I kept my entire colored Smithy (was hard to earn), and it sits locked on my keep floor.
If you want my opinion on colored VS iron or cloth VS leather or normal VS exceptional... welp i have none. Like I said I burned my caring out long ago. I just mentioned 6 issues your gonna have to think about, not to mention 8 levels of colored and 4 levels of leather and bone and and and and.... again screw it.
So for a normal BoD, Iron or Cloth, that anyone can get with .1 skill, I say 100 gold for quick selling or friends, or 500 gold apiece for Long term vendor selling or Large amounts (100 or more) already in a Bulk Order Book. (This price represents Siege ONLY)
