Blue Scales from SS, DSS

Are the scales worth hanging on to? I've accumulated a few thousand while fishing and last I heard the blue dragon armor is just a show piece.

I know there was a trade in program or something but I think that is over so..

Scales can be turned in to the library for 20points per.

They give the anthromorphists glasses and obviously all the talismans.

Armour itself is pretty worthless...if memory serves it has stupid high cold but 0 fire resist.

I tried to do part 2 of the quest to become a "friend" of the library. The massive unopposed spawn in the desert in Ilshenar definately was not expected.

Maybe I will use the scales to tile my roof.

Are you on about the speckled scorpion sacs you needed to acquire?

If so there is a gypsy camp in the middle of that spawn are complete with bank...so...if you really wanted to you could remove all armour at say brit bank run through the desert, die, get resd at gypsies re-equip and proceed from there.

I found that camp. Rezzed there. An Efreet followed. I'm just not skilled enough to get through the mobs to get these scorpions. Wyverns? Seriously.

After you get 1, you have an hour to get 4 more and return to the quest giver. It took me an hour to kill 2 (no sacs) and I fought about 12 other mobs in the process.

the poison sacs are on a fairly long timer and transferable. When I did the library donation quest I fetched the sacs on my tamer, dropped them in a chest in my house, picked them up with my crafter, then marked them as quest items.

I am on Legends.

I used my main combat character. I seriously just do not have the skills yet. I just came back to the game. I haven't been around since LBR and I just need to get used to the new abilities and skillsets.

I did pick up bushido and necromancy for my swordsman. Once I get a decent weapon and some of the necro Regen skills I will be much better off.

Yea, if i was you i would just train a little before trying to deal with those efreets.

I could gather the sacs for you, i think i have a tamer over on legends. I wont be on for about another 2hours though...ill check back then let me know if you want me to.

I really appreciate the offer but it is not that important to me. I was just killing some time trying to increase my skills. I will still have the scales when I am ready.

BTW, if you sneak around the efreet to the south end of that desert, the Earth eles there are a good spot to train - and maybe even luck out and get a few scorpions wander in with the poison sacs...

Earth Elementals eh?

I was just farming them in some easy dungeon level 1 and have a halberd with good DI Earth Elemental Slayer. That would work out very well.

Thanks for the tip.

It's not too tough if you have a character with decent magery, you can lure things off and invis then run back to where the scorps are and cast blade spirit etc. I did the quest on my crafter that way.

I have a fairly well experienced character who is capable of easily meleeing wyverns, and even the efreets with care... but I still needed the help of a couple of guildmates to get those poison sacs. the spawn is just too much.all it takes is a paragon harpy to make things obnoxiously tough. i can handle efreets. I can handle wyverns. But an efreet, two wyverns, a paragon harpy, and four scorpions?

OoooOOOoOO!
