Yup, GM mining, nope, anyplace will do same chance.

actualy if you have 95 mining with plus five gloves you can dig em up also wich is still gm mining but base does not have to be gm

I could really use that extra .2 points to mine some blackrock for this event.

Blackrock is very common around where valorite spawns (especially the old sites)

I mined about 20 pieces in 80k-100k ingots while mining in Felucca. Haven't tried Trammel because I hate doing twice the work for the same yield. I haven't heard anyone confirm getting a piece from mining since the event started. Let us know if you get any.

I mined 4 blackrocks out of 7k ingots in Trammel. I was told could mine them in Malas, but I never found one till I went to Tram and I mined nearly 5k in Malas before giving up.

I am thinking of tossing a virtue armor set on my miner and sending him to Fel, but not familiar enough to know what area is less traveled by PvPers. But with the blessed suit all i would stand to loose is the insurance on 2 items, tinker tools, shovel and whatever I had mined up.

Fellow seekers of blackrock. After mining for 2 hours tonight 10p.m - 12a.m. PST, I finally pulled a "small piece of blackrock" in Felucia. I spent an hour in Ilshener, 2 hours in Malas in addition with no luck. This isn't to say blackrock can't be found in the later facets, I'm only reporting my experience to bring clarity and direction for those on similar paths as myself. To dig up some blackrock in order to deal 1/4 damage to the Shadow lords and be a gauranteed recipient of the cloak of corruption.

So I've read it was possible to mine blackrock but hadn't experienced it for myself. I now know it is possible. I would be happy and answer any questions anybody may have. We're all in the same boat and by pulling our information we can all have a better chance at taking advantage of the moonglow event.

Post Script: jelake numbers seem to fit my situation as well 80k-100k ingots mined (any color ore) = 20 blackrock. In other words... 1 blackrock per 5000 ingots

You can mine in Cove or Delucia they are safe mining areas and you will get the same results with a bank handy at that

QUESTION: Once I've mined blackrock from a certain area, is that area likely to produce blackrock again if I revisit it 30 min. later or so after the ore has respawned?
