Are we going to be able to turn this stuff for rewards? So far i have got 6 bits as ToT rewards. No big deal, but i already have 400+ pices from mining i dont want anymore unless i can turn them in for rewards

and to be fair i can find more blackrock while minig than i get ToT rewards

If I'm reading the hints right, it will be used to lower the defences of the shadow lords so that we can fight them, by casting the Armageddon spell
