Black Gate in the Lost Lands?

Anyone know what this is? I cannot believe, in all of my years of playing UO, that I have never seen it before.

This is on Atlantic in the Lost Lands...there is a scroll on the ground that reads "Say FLAMOS to enter".

It doesn't seem to work anymore whatever it is.

Probably something leftover from an old EM event a few years ago.

One tiny problem with the EM customization of the shards we all ask for is that they do leave behind history that confuses people

Those "remains" should be marked with a date (when it was placed) and a plaque or something to explain what it is (after the event, of course).

That took you to fight funky black-dragons if I'm not mistaken.

I remember doing the event (if not getting it confused with another).

Yeah fighting big black dragon and they had poison sacks or some sort of sack on the corpse that were then turned in at the castle to the EM after the event for the acid proof robe think there was 10 in total, remember Wynn getting a robe and also having a sack locked down at the (mall).

And yes, I tried entering...nothing.

I wish when they put things like this up, they would leave them somehow functional. This gate could simply go to an existing dungeon, or a town, or something of interest. How much work would that really take?

Morgana, some of the EM-placed features are still functional. For example, there is a cool shortcut on GL from the Trammel Britain moongate to the west Brit bank.

On Sonoma, if you click on the plate armor set on the north side of the Skara Brae Community Center, you end up at the "Royal Guard Meeting Hall" in Serpent's Hold.

And on Baja, there is a black moongate in the library of Blackthorn's Castle in Trammel that takes you to an area under the castle....

That was the very last event before they suddenly canceled the last season of events. We had just gone down and killed a bunch of dragons, retrieving some big eggs I think.
