black "a monk robe" drop from origin event

Can you please provide a picture? I might be interested.
sure let me try and figure out how to take a pic. it is a monk robe that is jet black. EM told me its the only one in UO that is black because you cant dye them.
Is it pure black and legal to own? I'm very interested.
I currently have it on origin and can move it to ATL in a couple days with shard shield u can come check it out if you want

Okay, the thing about unique items is that there are different kinds of unique items.
Exmples:
1) A UNIQUE graphic
2) A UNIQUE color hue
3) A UNIQUE name
With some variations of all three examples. The robe is variation of 2 and 3.
However, the graphic is a very common obtainable item in the game. As you see above, I reproduced a "replica' of the robe you are selling. Which leads us onto the next part. The color is only unique in the retrospect of it being a Monks Robe and are undyable by players. Other than that, the color is VERY common throughout cloth pieces.
Now given, if it were an axe or an item of metal attribute containing the pigment of pure black, then that is a different story because metal cannot be dyed with the Black Cloth Dye tub. So with this in mind, even though this may be a unique piece, in my opinion it wouldn't be worth a huge amount.
I just felt the need to explain all of that because often times, when someone has a unique item, they think it is an instant billion gold piece item. That is not the case for some uniques though.
However, I am still interested in the robe.
How much are you wanting to get for this pieces?

fully understand and there is no way I would try to sell for a bil :}.. was trying to see what kind of offers I got but I am open to trades as well and am looking for a slither :}

I found a thread that had a purple dyed Monks Robe in the auction. I do not know how the monks robe obtained the purple hue. Maybe it was from a very rare Sigil Dye tub or by means on how you got your black one.

id say the value is closer to 300m, seeing that this was obviously a mistake on the EMs part and a truly 1 of 1 desirable item. EMs get fired for things like this so its very unlikely to happen again. The old bugged black chests / weapon are much more common and many have been created. Would have made an offer, just word of advice dont always sell to first offer you get

Another problem with unique items - you can NEVER tell what the item is actually worth until it sells. The owner AND the market determines the price.

Let me make it clear. This is not supposed to be in players hands. It has happened before on other shards and when reported, Mesanna will gladly take that back. EM will create these items from time to time as they role play during events but for some reason every once in a blue moon they are lootable on corps after the MOB dies. I looted one a few years back on drachenfels (it was a red monk) robe and I asked Mesanna if it was ok to own and without a word she took it from me and said players are NOT supposed to have these.
Not sure if this policy has changed since then but if you really want to make that item legit, I suggest you ask Mesanna first. It's always nice to have her blessings on these sorts of things.

After careful consideration and analyzing the possible outcomes of the matter; I regret to inform the OP that I must retract my offers on this robe. I don't normally retract bids, as I have always held up my bids. However, the legality of this item has come into question and I fear to lose out on any gold I might spend on such an item. As a player of morals, if I had purchased this robe and found it to be illegal, I would have gladly hand it over to be deleted - thus the result of losing out on gold spent.
If this causes a problem with the original poster, in respect of already transferring it to the shard of Atlantic - I will gladly repay any money spent at my expense as I had already made claim to purchase the robe. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience this may bring. I just have great fear of the legality of such things in possession of regular players.
My offer stands on repaying any compensation that may have been brought forth on the grounds of my failure to sustain and fulfill my obligated bids.

Hide yo kids hide yo wife... @Mesanna will take your shineys!!! Still a wonder why she would/might take items like this away but let obvious dupes like the sphynx and certain glacial items exist. Very cool item @Outlaw Torn make sure you put it some where safe.
pretty sure the monks robes were dyable by certain slimes on an Korean event
