For sure this is a Double Strike from an axe...

I'm thinking a bronze ogre slayer on a character running a pure offensive swordsman (running 100 LJ...) against an Arctic ogre lord that is Corpse Skinned and Assaulted, then hit it with an evil omen then move in for the double strike.

I'm guessing that the first hit will be for 300+ and the second for 250+.

Thoughts? Anyone gotten curious and tried to see just how much you can do?

Against a sampire minax capitain with 0 resists and 5x HP I was dealing 280+/280+ double strikes with a 100% fire undead slayer scimitar on my paladin with 120 swords/tactics/anatomy/chiv/parry/healing while under the effect of EoO.

Were you using Assault to get there? What mastery level?

You've got no Necro, so unless you were running 2 acct's you weren't dropping Corpse Skins on it either.

That's pretty hefty - simply switching to an axe would easily get you able to do in the 320+ range. Let alone if you swapped parry for LJ, and used corpse skin/evil omen. You might be able to break 800 total damage if you optimized for offense only.

No, that character uses the chivalry mastery for extra mana.
It seems that the vampire form of that captain drops it's fire resist to -25. And no, I do captain using a single account with that build. Less of a hassle.

Hmm, so if my math is right... against something with 0 resist, a scimitar would top out at 280/1.25 = ~225, and this seems about right, given than I seem to recall hitting some of the 0 resist but high HP balrons in BT for about 220. Then if you were to Assault said master this is 225 * 1.45 = ~325.

Then, lets say you were using a two handed axe. The scimitar is 12-16, the axe is 16-19. So then, even with 0 LJ (so Elf - no joat even) which puts your max damage at an amazing ~385.

Lets then say that, just for fun, you swapped over to drop parry for 100 LJ. This gives you 30% more damage - bringing it up to an utterly ridiculous 500 PER SWING.

If you used Corpse Skin, then that -15 fire resist would even be ~10% more damage, so now we are talking about being able to do ~1100 damage with a double strike. Yikes!!!

If you've got someone to drop evil omens for you then you can top a single hit out at ~675 damage - for a total of ~1225.

An Arctic Ogre Lord has a natural -10 fire resist. If you wanted to Disco him, that takes you to -38, then corpse skin is -53, then Assault could get it down to an unfathomable -73 fire resist? Even if an AOL had 160 barding difficulty you're still down to -59 resist.

In theory then, if the AOL has 160 barding difficulty, you might be able to hit him for ~1200 total. If you can get his fire all the way to -73 then you're going to be able to hit it for like 1500 damage max. If you used Evil Omen, you can theoretically get up to ~1685. That is, if it even survives the 1 hit that you need to assault it; and then the 2 more huge hits.
