Big mistake when buying?

So I activated my account for 1 month only to follow in updating my mythic account to get a 6 month payment option for 80.7€ (67.99€+taxes)...ouch!

Now I see in Origin's website they are selling game time codes for 6 month for only 45.99€???? What the heck???? Why such a big difference???

How are most people paying for it?? I have the "Big Mistake" feeling right now....

I pay mine month to month, I am not sure how conversions work between US and Europe (if that is where you are) but could that be it?

Depending on your country it can have a big impact. I pay via GTC only as its just so much cheaper here

It's about 50% less from 80€ to 45€. I basically paid double price...it won't make an impact on my life, fortunately, but it probably won't happen again.

Keep in mind that what you see as the "price" on Origin is before any taxes, etc. Not sure what your tax rate is - but that could be a part of the issue. You see the tax on the completed transaction charge, but not yet on the Origin site.

Yes, that is important. Guess I'll just have to try and find out what the final price is in Euros for the 6 months from Origin.

I live in Canada and the rate they charge me is more because of the exchange rate and taxes added to my charges so what I pay, is always more than the price advertised.

Now I use a special CC limited to a low amount, to pay for the game rather than buy other ways of paying for the game. It is secure and safe. Also it helps keep records of what I am paying what for which since I have more than one UO Account.

Only NOW I have a NEW problem - My canne corso Italian mastiff Dog Hugo ate my new card. It will take up to six weeks for a replacement plus another week of two for the new "pin' number to arrive separately because the CC company says a LOST card has to be replaced with a new one and there is no way I can prove my new card has been chewed up by my dog since I don't have it and he may have buried it under the snow in the back yard somewhere anyhow.

Im sorry to say this, but its true, 6 months GTC from origin are 46€ Taxes INCLUDED, so yes, its a really big difference. It also happened to me long long time ago, and since then i buy 2 x 6 months GTC each year from origin , so i only have to worry about that once per year, make me saves a lot of money.

Just to give an idea in Dollars converting from Euros, I paid $58 on the mythic website and the game time code would be $33.

The UK £ price is including taxes too; That's how I pay for my account, 6 months is nearly a 50% saving in the UK too
