This is just a reminder out there to people not to trust anyone that asks you to run scripts or down load things they send you. There is someone on origin gaining the trust of others the telling them he has a program that will help them out big time. he will then send you a script and ask you to run it, when you have that running and nothing happens he will say oh there is another part of it and send you another file. as soon as you start to down load this file, a screen will pop up over uo that you can not move. this screen is the block what your char is doing in uo. as you are trying to get the ugly black screen off your computer your char is in uo dropping ALL of you armor on the ground. by the time you realize what has happen you are standing there alone and nude. This happen to a good friend of mine. I am helping him replace all his stuff but I wanted to warn everyone else out there and remind you, do not down load things that people give you, do nut run scripts, and as sad as it is don't trust people that you have just met.

Since there is no way in UO macros or UO Assist macros to achieve what you are describing with a script, it rather suggests that this script is within an illegal macro program whose name can't be mentioned here.

If people are foolish enough to use such illegal programs, and even more foolish enough to accept scripts in email from other people, caveat emptor applies more than sympathy. Darwinian evolution at its best.

I think that applies more so when dealing with folks on the internet.
As much as I love the idea of survival of the fittest, I would hate to see something like this happen to someone in UO (even if they deserve it). The last thing the community needs is people quitting because they get disheartened after being scammed or hacked.

if all of you that are just crying "good, down with scripters" would read the warning better you would see i am warning people not to script and not to down load anything gotten from other people. its not only scripters that get hurt by this bs. i had my account hacked kinda the same way and lost EVERY i had not from scripting from downing loading something from someone i though i could trust. the file that was down loaded had a key logger in it and they were able to get the info to ALL my accounts. now this isnt only scary in uo but in rl. they can get your credit card info this way. your bank info. your pay pal info. The warning i gave was just a reminder to not trust other people. there are many scams and hacks out there that can happen to anyone playing the game so lets not make this thread into something its not. Its a warning to everyone to keep safe, dont script, dont trust people, dont down load files from others. you can take the trash talk that if someone is dumb enough to fall for it they deserved to get hacked somewhere else cuz that is why these scamers get away with it.

Newsflash. Scripting is ILLEGAL. And a lot of us around here despise scripters because they've done a ton of damage to this game.

Cry me a river. Maybe next time, don't cheat. If this guy made you gunshy to script from here on in, well hey, I think he taught you a lesson, and the tuition is your stuff.

There's only one program which would allow a user to code a bot that finds and drags any items worn in a player's paperdoll and inventory out and drop it on the ground. If your "friend" told you anything other than he downloaded an open source scripting client, downloaded a script via email from a stranger, didn't know how to read coding and randomly hit play, lost all his stuff, and is crying about it, then he's lying or you are naive.

1. Scripting programs are illegal
2. Scripters will be banned eventually (if afk)
3. Downloading random scripts in email is ********. I find it ironic because even scripting programmers advise you NEVER to download scripts from email or 3rd party sources.
4. Not knowing how to read/write code and still running a script is beyond stupid.
5. No new player who just purchased an account will #1, have knowledge of said scripting program. #2, know about stratics and uhall enough to care about sifting through 100 pages of drama to find any useful information.
6. Anyone who tries to get the easy way out and cheat the system is bound to be screwed or caught unless they actually know what they're doing.
7. As many have stated before, your "friend" got what he deserved. He should have been banned from using this program imo. lucky all he got was scammed of a single suit of gear.

im not sure what he down loaded or what threw. my guess would be either email or icq. when i got the key logger in my computer it was over icq. i dont understand how the scripts work so i dont know how the file that was down loaded worked in relation to uo or the cheat program. being why in my first post i warned people not to script. its just another reason for people to stop. never once did i say it was ok to script just that my friend that has only been playing a few months trusted the wrong person. i have been playing over 8 years and have seen many scams done to newer players. scripters and scammers are why uo loses so many people. not sure why everyone and stratics likes to fight and bash everyone that trys to post. does it help your egos to trash people just trying to help? maybe it helps you feel better about not being able to read. my post was a warning for people not to script that it does no good and is just another open port for scams. sounds to me like you guys would go out and install the program and find these files so you could go out and script hack people to teach them a lesson.

I have to say that when i was a new player, I was told by another about a program that could help me gain my skills better. Since i was new, i didnt know about stratics or that such a program was ilegal, not til later.

so sayin that a new player deserves this is wrong. No they shouldnt use it, but if u dont know anybetter....

maybe if on the openin page, EA listed the known illegal programs that would help, but then again that might bring to the attention scripts ppl didnt know about, so forget it.

But the point is , that new players dont know much & can get taken advantage of, but MOST of the older players know what u cant play with so yes, those I dont feel sorry for.

But in this day its hard to really tell a new player form an old one.

Actually wrong a simple trojan can make all this happen. A simple excel macro can be used to make all this happen. Most 3rd party programs do not interact directly whith uo. Simple to do I can write one and send it to you as long as you open it all youre items belong to me but nah I wouldnt do crap like that some people are just plain thieves and malicious. Ive had someone try to scam me trying to make believe there my friend and we shared passwords-please how gullable they think people are,sadly some people are way too trust worthy.
