[Discussion] Beware Trade Window Snipers Who Add & Quickly Delete Zeros When You Accept

I have been receiving reports of Trade Window scamming, and originally dismissed them as not possible, but recently a friend of mine was selling something for 200m, and the buyer added and quickly deleted a 0 just as the seller clicked accept, so that way the buyer/scammer saved 180m.

Before weightless gold, I was among the most trusted brokers to help with large gold transactions, and if you don't trust who you are dealing with, I will still login if I am available, and handle these trades for free. I did this for nearly 8 years before they made gold weightless. I don't like hearing about people getting scammed. I became a broker to stop this. So please if you just want to be careful, message me, and I will take the gold, the items, and swap them to their new owners per trade deal instructions. Good luck and be safe!

Yes after someone clicks accept, it maybe possible to remove or add zeros. However when trade is complete, the original check marked price before any adding or subtracting is exactly what is traded. I tested this personally many times over between two of my accounts, and encourage everyone who has two accounts to tinker with this, because I've yet to get a different amount other than what was originally check marked. Anything changed in trade amounts after the box was checked didn't change the amount received. Take screen shots of every transaction with journal open if you want to prove to the Dev Team otherwise.

It's not a bug, the guy is just showing you the amount you want but getting lucky in removing a zero just as you click your check box to accept. Let the buyer set their amount first and check their box first, or better yet stop dealing with this guy.

Until people actually start reporting him instead of just complaining here or in general chat he's not likely to stop.

We brought this up at the last LS meet and greet. She seemed to have no idea what it was. Yep... and I have used Nails as a broker , he is honest.

Its not that they are getting lucky. EC allows you to copy and paste into the trade screen so what they do is type in the amount you are wanting then paste a copied price into the trade window and hits ok. It only looks like hes deleting a 0 but hes actually just copy pasting a different price.

Trade window is obsolete... it should have an option for the seller to put an item and a price then the buyer accept or not with a 30 seconds chrono you cant modify anything.
