Just a warning for everyone on our shard to

BewaRe the pirate griefer!!!!!

There's a fellow who runs around, locating people capturing pirates...

Once your pirate is captured, he remains attack-able. This griefer will kill the captured pirate, thus ensuring that you won't get the reward. You don't event get a death certificate. Not sure if he gets a certificate or not, but even if he does, it's nowhere near worth the effort he puts in...So, quite clearly, griefing is his sole motive.

BewaRe the pirate griefer!!!!!

Perhaps this fellow is just targeting me and my friends, and is not a threat to the general population, but perhaps he is. Just in case, be sure to:

BewaRe the pirate griefer!!!!!

He's in a pretty big guild, one whose reputation he's potentially besmirching, assuming this guild doesn't condone his actions.

Your upset you don't know how to protect your captures? You upset you were outsmarted by the Elite Pirate Hunter? It is the people who work hard that get nothing, but him, he works smart, and gets the rewards. It is not greifing to go in and steal a kill it is perfectly legal and acceptable to let others do your work then reap the benifits, and yes even in tram :gee: !

STRAIT FROM THE UO/EA RoC:

Kill stealing is allowed in Ultima Online. Each player has as much right as any other player to any NPC or monster. There are no line ups, no seniority, no claiming areas or spawns, and no taking turns. All of these things are great if players agree to them and in the long run will improve your enjoyment of hunting, but they are not the rule. It is not appropriate to page on another player who is interrupting your game play by interacting with the NPC spawn in any regard.

Quit your complaining and go to the ask the devs forum and ask them to change it.

I highly doubt they will since the pirate is a NPC char that is open to anyone to attack whether he is red, white, or blue.

If you edited it due to not spelling things correctly you might just want to go over it one more time. Unless, of course, you are able to physically sail through the UO RoC.

Strait is spelled strait no matter what context it is in. Your the one took it out of its grammatical context and turned it into a sailing term.

Except, of course, it is spelled 'straight'... which you didn't quite get, but most second graders do. But whuddeva. 'Next', indeed. LOL

Many thanks for admitting who you are via referencing your rather misleading guild title. You don't hunt pirates at all, let alone in an elite fashion. Since you've admitted your actions I can now say you're some gargoyle fellow from the guild Beyond Reality. You've outed yourself; I was trying to abide by the Stratics rules and not name you, but you've named yourself.

At no point did I say your actions were against the UO terms of service. That's for EA to decide. Frankly, you and I both know they won't care one way or the other.

I will point out, though, that what you do isn't kill stealing in the same sense that the terms of service contemplate it. That would apply if you killed the pirate before it was captured; what you do is exploiting a clearly unintended consequence of a game mechanic. Whether or not what you do rises to the level of violating the UO Terms of Service isn't a judgment for either of us to make.

However, it certainly qualifies as grief play by anyone's definition, especially since your targets do try to leave the area, as is typically (if ridiculously) demanded by the manufacturer of the victim in response to a grief attempt.

All I was doing was warning my fellow players, and I didn't even name you until you outed yourself. Hopefully your guild doesn't want you besmirching its reputation.

I never outed anyone, I never admitted in the slightest way to you that you were reffering to me or that guild. You my friend, have been respectfully reported for stratics roc violation, it is now in Petra's (and the rest of the team) hands.

Seems like griefing to me, cdavbar. Once the pirate is already captured, and since the party can't do anything about your killing him, it's clearly not intended game play. And clearly unfair. But I guess that's just my opinion, still, there it is.

Sure there is, sail your ship away, when you get to the sea market pull up by the north end, use ctrl shift to pull up all names and dbl click the quest giver, no need to get off your ship to put your pirate at risk. Easy to do.

Yeah, he's a griefer.

He kills the pirates AFTER they are already captured and bound to the pole on your ship. This causes the quest to break for the captain of the other ship, requiring him/her to go back to the Sea Market and try again.

The ruining of other player's fun just to get your jollies is called griefing.

Oh, yeah, you did admit to being the jackass in question in THIS thread.

And so you can't run and edit your post:

Are you upset that i took your pirate last night on GL?

And its not pvp since you wernt attacked.

As for boarding your ship, set the access levels accordingly.

All I really have to add on this thread is I PRAY this is not the example you set for your guild. One thing about guilds that people tend to gloss over is that you are setting an example of how your particular guild acts for everything you do in game.

A lot of current GL guilds could remember that I'm seeing nowadays, but just pointing out that your actions do reflect on your guild as a whole. A shame, really.

As one of the high command for this guild I would like to state this:

We are running out of cry babies in our guild. We are in great need of people that have nothing to do but whine there asses off all day long.

Specifically we are extending an invitation to DC* we open our arms to your crybaby scum. (Galen you should be able to get the message to them right?)

Canary, if you play GL you are more than welcome to join us as we besmirch our shard!
