Best victory in career...only to be dissapointed!!

The story goes like this:

With my Tamer: Aphrodite

after killing white and shadow wyrms for a while, I decided it was time to seek out the ancient wyrm. Being one of the most fearsome beasts in all of Brittania, I was a bit nervous! However, I had read some stories that they are similar in difficulty to the shadows.
So I journey through the lands of Illish to find this fearsome beast. After a bit of a walk I come to the outter passage to the ancient wyrm layer. I stand there for a moment in anticipation for a fierce fight. I look over at BigSexy my super dragon to see if she is ready for this. She nods with a nervous anticipation. I hide and stealth down the allyway, BigSexy following closely behind. I see 3 regular wyrms...and (paragon) wyrm. Im not worried.....unil i see a 2nd (paragon) name behind the regular. This paragon is precedeed by the name, Ancient Wyrm. I freeze momentarily....by this time..BigSexy has charged into battle. Im not sure wether to follow or run at this point, as BigSexy is engaged with not only 3 regular wyrms, but a (paragon) wyrm and an ancient wyrm(paragon). I can only watch from a distance for fear that if i go heal..i will be killed instantly when i am unhidden. BigSexy manages to take out the reg wyrm paragon and 2 wyrms before getting very low in health...i retreat down the ally to log out and back quickly to retriever her....by this time its too late. I resurrect BigSexy and regroup. A long story short...i manage to get the ancient wyrm paragon 1vs1 with BiGSexy in the ally. Nearly 400 bandages and who knows how long...maybe 30minutes...BigSexy finally gets the last laugh. I open up this 7,000 hitpoint beast with excitement of what i may find!! I sift through the goods....I pick up roughly 3500gp...and sort through the items. I must say my smile turned to a look of confusion. There was nothing good at all. not 1 good jewel and the wepons where what you might expect off a Cyclopse. Needless to say, Im glad i defeated the ancient wyrm paragon...but i will not do it again. I think i spent more in bandies than i retrieved from the beast/.... LOL

Yup, the main thing is the accomplishment of killing it. We don't even get a gold dragon hide.

My friend lost his golden hiryu named Wild Honey when it went wild while we fought a paragon AW when we blundered into it and some paragon wyverns and regular stuff while exploring. Something about fighting the AWs makes your pets lose loyalty fast - I was killed out of bandage range so I could not help him heal the hiryu, which was taking way too much damage from all the spawn, and when it died after going wild it was gone forever. I still have poor Wild Honey's pet ball of summoning in my house.

You do realize that a major part of this game is PvM, I hope. If everyone was a wolf, the wolves would soon get worn out stalking each other and crying about house hiding and such, and eventually starve from have nothing good to eat. rolleyes:

LOL, sure some can...and when your performance rates more than a .5 we'll certainly round you up and add you to the group.

And while Kat is correct that I have never really played on a Trammel shard, I do have many newbie Skylarks deployed as deco spies...even on the Asian shards! I may only be able to move a step every few seconds on some shards due to lag, but no deco is safe from me!

I've never been to the ancient wyrm lair on Siege, I've been on Europa, and yes a paragon is a pain. The one I took on I had redlined for 20 minutes. It would not die! kept healing. It took me 600 bandages in total.

But what were the other 'wyrms' in your tale? Is the spawn different on Siege? on Europa the ancient is only accompanied by 3 wimpy wyverns. No danger at all to a greater dragon, even in paragon form.

maybe instead of throwing around insults because people dont do the same thing you do everyday, you should try and ...well maybe not say anything at all. For your information, I have played exclusively on siege since it opened. So you can guess my feeling on your teenage comment on trammel. And i hate to say it, but sometimes i would rather deal with a computer generated animal than people like you. I have spent some time dealing with you teenagers....and several million gold later...realize that there are few players with honor in this game. I have given away quite a bit to new players joining siege from other shards....or just new in general...in the attempt to get them going here...hoping they would stay...and somehow contribute to helping siege grow. Only to be left there pockets out and barely a thank you. so my giving spirit has dwindled....as im starting to think these players are extra chars of people like you. take and take some more.....la!

Hmmm...I think Mugen Skylark may be currently stashed in some special, presumably EM created cave & display not far outside Umbra. I started a recon mission in Malas there, but got caught in a mega lag bubble and had to abort, and abandon her there.

I did note that the housing density on the Asian shards seems to have gone way down since previous missions.

I am not sure where David was fighting his wyrms, but the lair in Ilsh on Siege has only had wyverns and lava lizards besides AW when I have gone there (for some reason, Castor's idea of fun every now and then was along the lines of "hey let's go poke Ancient Wyrm with a stick and see what happens" as if "what happens" would be different than the other times we tried it. ).

Now im not saying your as good as a ratman archer or that im better...im just saying i would rather not have any interaction with people like you to start with. ***looks for "middle finger" icon...**** LOL JK,,, i only give the middle finger to people i like...hehe

btw, the safe way to approach a pet engaged in fighting a paragon is not to walk or run to the pet, but to teleport.

Skylark. I got the impression from the description that he was at the nest not far from the daemon valley near Compassion shrine rather than the lair near the lava between Honor and the gargoyle city. I could be wrong

I don't normally defend non-PvPers but here it goes. While I don't think I could ever fully understand the joys of PvMing or crafting or whatever (non-PvP), and there's no way I'd play an mmo without PvP, I don't think that makes the people who don't PvP trammies. There's more to being a carebear than not PvPing. Siege is the PvP shard (despite what some people here prefer to think), but that doesn't mean it's only a PvP shard. It's for people who enjoy greater risk, danger from other players, challenge, whether they be PvPers or not. And whoever said we need non-PvPers is right.

While we're on the subjects of carebears/trammies and Siege though, I will say I think many people on Siege (PvMers/crafters and PvPers alike) are carebears who should be in trammel.

If we were all to leave, who would you guys kill and taunt? and who would enhnce your uber weapons? maybe show a lil appreciation for those that labor for your benefit...instead of taunting them for not researching macro programs and what not to enhance their pvp prowess. I enjoy siege and the challenges that come with it....hence the reason i placed my home outside luna east entrance....if i didnt like the potential dangers... i would place my house on an island with rico.

to OP: Nice work on killing that paragon AW. I tried it one time but gave up lol. I thought my cu could handle it but I was wasting too many bandies and I said "SCREW IT!" and peaced out lol. BTW, luck helps with the loot. I could sell u some luck stuff if you're interested

i miss spoke,... they were wyverns. but a paragon wyvern got locked on me and i have no wepon skills..

and yes the last couple hundred hit points were amazingly difficult. I had him down as low as 39 hits left....next time i lored him he was at almost 300. 300 hits doesnt even show on the health bar. it also took me forever after his health bar was gone. i was worried there was some special trick i need to do to actually kill him. tuff sucker no doubt!!

anyone out there know of a more difficult creature than an AW paragon??
