Best pet vs. Dark Father?

Hey Guys,

i was wondering what the best pet is to go for the Dark Father solo.
I got a Archer/Chival/Taming Template with very good equip.

I am referring to this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dm6AjztYqc8&feature=related

So he uses a Hiryu, i dont got one honestly, i always went fine with the mare/beetle or my cu sigh. I planned to go to the DF with a cu.

But now i saw recently this video and i am a bit unsure, if i should get a hiryu.

The addition of a hiryu alone to your Archer/Chival/Taming Template with nice kit will not accomplish this for you.

I was impressed right up until I noticed the cheating.

Posting a video of yourself killing a dark father using a script is almost as bad as posting a video of your friends beating someone up.

I dont know who the guy is, and he is cheating?

That sucks.

Anyway, i want to give it a shot. the least thing can happen that i die a bunch of times.

I dont know if its possible, cause im going to try it anyway. But i wanted to be prepared as good as possible.

And i am still wondering, what the best pet is

I got a nice Cu, but i have been to the gauntlet with a friend, but we kinda failed because it was to much spawn.

So i build a new template:
Its currently
120 Archery
100 Tactics
100 Taming
110 Lore
100 Taming
110 Vet
70 Chival

Dont know if i switch in via soulstone 110 anatomy or 110 meditation
I think i go with meditation and two slayer bows for the df/undead spawn.

In addidtion to that, my equip is this:

Mace and Shield Glaces
Jackals Collar
high mr/fire resi sleeves
Heart of the Lion
Stormgrips
Legs of Bane
Primer of Arms
Crimsons Cincture

hci bracer/rings for 45% hci, with +vet, to get vet to 120


So if anyone could give me a nice advice on MY PET. that would be really awesome.

You see the HE uses a Hiryu and my i dont got one?!?!
the least thing you can do is, to read a post entirely and dont compare me with fools beating up people.

I see someone with a gimplate and banned cheater tools cheating to beat a DF.

I do not see cheating as anything worth emulating. Frankly, if someone has to cheat to win, to my mind he has already lost.

I'm not really sure what you're after. There is no "sure-thing" pet for the rigors of the Gauntlet. Too much depends on too many outside factors - number of other players, whether there's a sampire tanking, unholy bones generated undead spawn, the tamer's own skill, experience &amp; abilities being just a very few few.

I have a good, solid &amp; well-trained hiryu and I certainly have excellent cu sidhes, however, I much prefer a rune beetle &amp; mare combination at the Gauntlet.

Two well-trained bake kitsunes do well until they are targetted or blood oathed.

My reptalon does well in every room except Room 2's Fleshrenderers where my reptalon and the Fleshies spend most of their battles paralysing one another.

Why not simply get a hiryu, bond with it &amp; train it up so you can see if it works well for you at the Gauntlet, with your template, your equipment and your abilities?

Thanks for youre Advice, i still dont see how the guy in the video is cheating.

Anyway, i dont cheat, so i think the alone thing is out of the question

I have been a few times to the gauntlet with my cu sidhe, i could easily take down all rooms by myself. We tried the Dark Father with 2 People, but it seemed that the Cu Sidhe lacked tanking abilities vs. the DF.
I dont have a Sampire Tank, so usually the Pet tanks.

But i tamed today, a pretty nice Hiryu with max Hitpoints and decent resists. I hope he will be a bit better in tanking the Dark Father.

And btw. i dont know what i have done, that i deserve this hostility versus me, i didnt know that the guy is cheating, i just ask a question.
I thought this is allowed in this Forums.

I usually find myself in the Bushido Forum and the people there a bit more polite and helpul.

Just my 2 cents...

There was a popup showing a UOAssist type program thats not authorized to be used with UO on official shards.

You've done nothing wrong, and anyone who shows hostility towards you is just venting their objections of people who use those types of programs, not directed at you.

The Dark Father does 20% of all types of damage. But he also uses spells. It seems that any monster that attacks with spells will use a LOT of fire based spells. I think thats the reason a Hiryu does better then a Cu.

The Hiryu has VERY low Cold resist. But also has extremely good Fire. There are limited cold damage spells, so I'd think he would do much better then a Cu with their low Fire Resist.

That 'UOAssist type program' that pops up, isn't a uoassist type program, it is a video capture program used to record the screen. When you see it at the beginning the person is starting their capture, and at the end is when they are ending their capture.

I've seen that program many times. It cannot be named here. It has a video capture but it does do stuff like UOA but even more than UOA does. Including macros and other things that cant be legally done. So it isn't 'just a video capture program'.
