Best idea ever for spring cleaning.

But... Someone might want it... Someday! :p
I don't really see some of the items that get held on to as the fault of the player, UO is flooded by crap items as rewards. Bear rugs, tapestries, prospector tools, recipes, SOS, Tmaps, etc. The items are "rare" but over time their uses became out dated.

I can't see new deco items as a bad thing, who doesn't want more content?

Look a the last Spring Cleaning events:

Virtue Tiles
Fire pit
Bleue Set
Armor sets
Alacrity Scrolls

Not saying any of these should be reintroduced, they are rares and should be kept as such. I loved the majority of these items though, they made skill gain easier in many instances, and made some great collectibles for people.

I don't know about anyone else, but I use the hell out of prospector tools, SOS, and Tmaps.

But its mine and I'll keep it as long as I care to pay for the storage. throw your stuff away but I kept hundreds of charged items and made millions off them, 6 years later. as long as we each pay for our account do what we will with our stuff, have you ever heard to joy in the voice of a new player when you give him rugs furniture and paragon chest for thier first house?

Can you tell me today if everything I have right now will continue to be worthless tomorrow?

Remember furs, back in the day? Nobody harvested them, they were useless! Then one day BAM. Everyone wanted one because you couldn't get them!

(okay, slight exaggeration.)

You can place trash cans in your house, and toss those items. Besides, no one told you you had to loot those items off the monsters corpse.

I clearly remember the insanity, the greed and the lust for the rewards being given away at the last "cleaning"

I can read these guys a mile away, all they're after is uber items, either for themselves, or quick resale.

Let's just say, this current daydream takes off....let's hope and pray, all you get for being such a non-packrat is a medal or a t-shirt. We'll see who cleans then.

As others have stated, get a trashcan in your house and stop displaying materialism, it's sickening and embarrassing, to a fellow UO player.

later packey

Well, displaying cool stuff in your house isn't really the problem. Its people who are hording items in hopes that they will one day be able to turn them into something else.
