Ok I'm finally going to try to do a peerless spawn, what character template should I take there? I'm doing Lady Melisande first, ok that sounded naughty. I have a scribe/mage, pally/fencer/archer(stored on soulstone), peace/tamer and provo/discord/mage. my peace/tamer is outdated, I'm still using a white wyrm lol still waiting for my greater dragon to bond :)

any suggestions for other peerless spawns? and also, should I go at it alone? or go with a group?

With your array of characters, I would go in groups.

I would go in groups for a first time peerless adventure anyway.

For Mel:
Go with the scribe/mage or the archer. The tamer would be better once your dragon bonds.

For Dread Horn:
Go with warrior-type or tamer

For Travesty:
Don't even think about going with archery, discord or peace. Trav copies your skills and those are killers for the party, as is necromancy.

For Paroxy:
Don't go with a tamer. Anything else is OK so long as you have a good group.

For Shimmering:
I'd go with the archer for a first time. Later, the provo-tamer is better.

For Griz:
Go with the tamer. Everything else is second.

Those are just suggestions for a first time. And it is better if you attach yourself to a group that's done these things before and more importantly, listen to their advice. We had someone hitch a ride into Mel with us the other day who tried really hard to get us all killed by not listening to our advice and simply running in to attack then running back to the group when she was overwhelmed.

How about a pure bard? (120 all barding skills) I have yet to do any peerless with my newly finished bard but have been doing DF fairly easily in Doom...

Seismic:I use provo for all key collecting but it's not very useful for the bosses simply because there is little or no useful spawn (unlike doom).

Good to know since I've never done a peerless before!! lol :) Just came back a few years back and have been doing everything else.

But I love Doom!! And I'll be camped there most of the time collecting arties :).

cheerful, can I safely use Disco and EV's? I suppose this works ok on all but Travesty. I just hate the consistent failures on bossess with barding difficulty of 160 .. ahhhh! Lots of running :).

Disco will be frustrating on all the bosses because of the difficulty but obviously very effective when it comes off, EV's are good on all except Parox who eats them and regenerates life. Bard/mages are a great addition to any group (assumes your not going to try solo'ing) and make life alot easier at the start and middle of Mel and the end of Trav for example.

Guess I'll drag a friend when I want to kill the bosses, and I'm sure there are already groups camping there. Or log in with my pure mage.
