[Stealing] Being revealed upon hitting my steal key...

Howdy again folks,

So, hiding is 100, stealth is 100 plus 10 on ring so 110, stealing is 100. I thought (seems I was incorrect) that we are revealed once we attempt, successful or not, to steal something. I'm being revealed when I hit the steal key, before an attempt is made.

Lordy I've been away too long.....should the reveal be when I hit my key or when I make the actual attempt?

No, you are revealed as soon as you hit the steal skill. To combat this, use an item (knife, furniture deed, or wharever) that brings up a targeting cursor and select the item to steal. Then when you want to steal, use a macro to use stealing and last target.
