I was leaving Doom, and my beetle was loaded with gold and supplies like 1000 stones. DF was around so i decided to go out on ethy and relogin. So i did, relogin, and no beetle, zero followers, and empty stables... Is it normal???

Extremely normal. Pets do not log out with you, if they have stuff on them, and will go wild if left out.

They do not "jump to you" if loaded, either, if you log out and log back in, the way unloaded pets do. This is because this is effectively a method where the creature is auto-stabled, then comes back out with you when you log back in. As you can't stable a creature with loaded cargo, the process doesn't work.

There IS an outside chance, if this has happened in the last 6-8 hours, that your pet may still be there in Doom, and the follower count might reset if you find it there, still bonded, and call it to you with a "All Follow" command. Depeding on where you left it, and who might have been there to loot, that even if it went wild, a bag with its contents might still be in there on the ground.

unfortunately beetles are bugged when it comes to logging off with items in it :(
i was at a mage shop with my scribe buying scrolls and i let him sit too long and i timed out, when i logged back in, maybe took me 2 minutes my beetle was gone..
i know it didn't have time to go wild, i think they just vanish..

Ok, it's a sad thing. Besides beetle was wonderfully happy (or at least extremely) and when i relogined it was gone...

This is *not* a bug. It was in the notes when autostable was first introduced. Loaded pets are not subject to autostable. If you log off not mounted they will go wild, if you leave them behind they'll stay where you left them. The only way to get it back is go fetch it or call it on a pet ball.

When you logged off your follower slots cleared, if you go fetch it they'll reset once it's on the same screen.

this *IS* a bug because my pet did not go wild.. it was extremely happy and i was only logged off for maybe 2 minutes.

i was standing in the umbra necro shop buying scrolls from the vendors.. they started at 20 and were up to 80..

i sat too long without moving and i timed out and when i logged back in there was no beetle. it didnt wander off, it was gone..

i know when they go wild they get guard killed, but the pack stays on the ground.. or they drop the scrolls when they go wild..

i also know they can sit for more then 3 hours without going wild.. as i have left a beetle in the doom npc room for that long.

either that or there is some kind of accelerated going wild trigger that happens when you log out..

if thats the case it needs looked at, as it sucks.

its not the first time i lost a beetle.. the times i was in an area hunting and i had gold on my beetle, i died but it didnt..

i went to res and when i came back it was gone and there was no ghost.

so far as of today ive lost about 7 bonded beetles..

Best way to log off with a loaded beetle, would be to mount it then log off. If your mounted and log out you should be mounted when you log in.

There is a bug that, if you used the "log out/in" method to get a mount to you, even if you log out while riding it, later, it will NOT be under you (but beside you) when you log back in.

It might be related to what happened.

I'm also not 100% sure that a pet will always drop its contents if guard-whacked while still tame.

And there's always the chance an opportunist saw the pet drop its load, and snagged it immediately (using a horde minion or beetle, or even just leap-frogging it to Umbra bank, in the 2 minutes you were gone.

Someone "lost" a beetle a couple weeks ago in Luna, on Lake Austin, in the early AM (and not a soul in the bank other than me - and I camped the beetle for 2 hours waiting for the drop), and I was able to snag the 1000 daemon bones that were in it, directly from the pack on the ground, to my bank.
