So I decided to dl UO again. I played for around 7-8 years back in the old days.
Is the game still the same or has it gotten any better?
Are there any free codes to use my old account with a trial? I just want to see whats there and in it. its been about 7 years since I played....
Any advice?
The addition of imbuing - and the abyss to get imbuing ingredients - has changed the game radically. Whereas we used to check loot regularly for armor pieces, now you can just imbue your own armor that's better than you could have imagined seven years ago. The Shame and Covetous dungeon revamps (especially Shame) has also changed the game. Now you can find jewels that are far better than the old artifiacts, and sometimes better than anything you could imbue. Then there's the High Seas expansion, which I've never had time for because I still prefer treasure hunting. Most of the trreasure hunting loot is pretty worthless now - even the stuff in the level 6 green packpacks - but you can find forged pardons in higher-level chests now, and those sell for 1M or more each. You can also rack up blue and pink scrolls, reagants and imbuing ingredients from treasure chests. Tamers - I don't think you had greater dragons seven years ago. Bards are much more powerful. Sampires are about the same. Now there are gargoyle throwers. The last change I'll mention is a general decline in population on all shards, except maybe Atlantic. It doesn't bother me all that much on Legends - I kind of like the open spaces - but it might bother some who are social creatures and like to work in groups. So, yes, the game has changed quite a bit.
